Yup, it’s the ARE Overland with windoors in both sides, lined header, sliding/tilting front window, led strip lighting and roof rack. It’s my first truck cap. I bought it for function but never was crazy about the looks of caps. I love it! Keeps my gear dry and secure and makes a an excellent camper for 2 on a long bed.

The ARE Overland cap is high on my mod list. Just purchased the truck in April and it may take a few months to pull it together. Good to hear someone having a positive experience with their cap...like the contrasting look of the Overland.

If I go with BFK Ko2 tires 265/70R/17 on stock suspension with new 17 inch TRD Pro wheels will I have any rubbing?

Will I need to remover stock mud guards?

I keep hearing it both ways and trying to confirm before I pull the trigger.

    Thanks

17's all the way! I've got the KMC aluminum wheels and love the stance they provide.

Not in my experience, or the experience of most. Fellas that have issues with this setup are out there, but not the norm.

Will I have to remove mud flaps or can they stay on without rubbing them?

    Thanks

I am in the same boat. I am going for a set of 16" ray 10's and reuse the stock tires for now. I don't tow, I don't offroad so there are enough choices of tires out there for 16's

I have factory mud flaps and get full articulation Offroad with zero rubbing front or back, lock to lock, forward or reverse, and full stuff.

This is what I have been going back and forth on myself. Don't want to do it twice so thinking the 17 is the way to go for me as long as no other modifications needed for now. I found a good deal on the TRD Pro 17 inch wheels so think I am going this way.

I was also thinking of what you are planning and reached out to Ray10 people and asked them if stock suspension and run their 16s with stock wheels will there be any rubbing and they said there might be some trimming needed so I backed off of this one.

wait wait, 16 ray 10's with 265/70/r16 do not rub at all, 265/75/r16 will rub a little bit by the mud-flaps according to a couple of people who posted in my thread LOL why are we getting different responses?

Not sure maybe I was given the wrong info - I emailed them and asked about rubbing with stock suspension and wheels with the 16 Ray10s and response was might need to trim, but was just an email and not a telephone conversation so maybe some misunderstanding in communication. This is why it so hard. I am just going the 17 route and hope for the best. Tired of thinking about it.

The 17” pro 4Runner wheels are the best looking wheels out there for these trucks. IMHO. Toyota’s design triumph.

Just get 16.5's and call it a day.

    Just kidding, lol.

    I had a 2001 F150 with a tire balance problem. Turned out to be 4 16.5" tires, 3 16.5" wheels, and 1 16" wheel. Hahahaha
