    Morning, TTC!

For those in the know, I'm at about 50% now and have been able to walk reasonably well for the last 12 hours. Thanks for the well wishes!

I don't think I can add a poll to a thread that already has a poll. I did mention post this, but didn't get any traction. We'll see how it goes...

    Thanks, Chad!
    Thanks, Robert
I got up fast fromthe toilet last Friday, caused my back to go into super uncontrolled spaz mode and I had to go to the emergency room. A few shots and some muscle relaxers later, I began walking unsupported last night. My L5-S1 disk is basically gone, my L4-L5 disk is nearly gone and my L2-L3 is going. I also have nerve damage to the nerve cluster at L5-S1, so I've been having issues, anyways.

I've been trying to be active and I haven't had a spasm today, yet, as well as I've been making sure to get up at least once an hour to prevent stiffness.

Good to hear; the getting better part anyway. I have three herniated discs in my lower back, so have been there. Knock on wood, it's been pretty calm for the last few years.

My deal on Monday was to have a cryo balloon ablation done in the left atrium of my heart, at Baylor Scott and White in Temple. I was diagnosed with A-fib about a year ago, after an offhand remark to my GP during a physical about experiencing an occasional weird feeling when riding my bike in 100 degree temps. I had a bunch of tests done, including ECHO, a cardiac MRI, and CT scan for plaque and and fortunately, my heart is very healthy, except for the A-fib. My cardiologist told me that I have a relatively rare "athlete's heart", and have the lowest plaque score, (0.4), that she has ever seen, other than patients with 0.0 as the score.

My A-fib is intermittent, and the best way to resolve that, other than medication, is via ablation, either using heat or cold, to scar the area of the heart where the erratic electrical signals are coming from. The latter method, cryo, is a bit newer and potentially less invasive, so that's what we went with. The procedure is to insert a catheter in your groin, and use that to snake the tools up into your heart, where they can do the work, with the trouble spots mapped out. It took about 3 hours, and after recovery, I was able to come home later on in the day. The medical options in this country amaze me. The results so far, using the ECG function on my Apple watch, are very good, (knock on wood), showing sinus rhythm every time I check.

Glad to hear it worked out, but I'm beginning to think you're starting a new career as a surgical test dummy. :D
