All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!

    Trailer and rtt still available.

I would trade my rtt for a goal zero yeti 400, asking $500 for it.

Figure I'll throw this out there. Any of you remember when I sold my drawer system that we built for the back of our 4Runner?

If not, check here: We got tons of compliments on it and had a couple of people indicate interest when we did finally sell it. So I made another. I'm not quite finished with it, but figured I'd let y'all know in case there is any interest. It's also not quite identical, but very very close. If I don't point out differences, I doubt anyone would notice. Drawers use the same soft-close ball-bearing drawer slides rated at 100 lbs each set.

    Afd2jY5gXPpbMVn8EGRTjGLLbyf15dW_MtWNsjEE_da9ca56389afc2a3ed6e8e7fae31773ad35f27fa.jpg ew952JICDxU3oMeHQG9DHbR2qvJt2crWrcMFNSQS_047f9741ff564200b2f67a32cd3f6409cea585a4.jpg

All I really need to do is some more sanding and a final coat of paint and it should be ready to go. I'm going to ask the same $250 price that we sold the last one.

If anyone has another vehicle and wants something similar, I can do that also, just need to take some measurements first.

We have most definitely gotten some use out of the box I bought from you.
I need to take some pics of how we built an additional platform that links into it, to make a bed.
I may be contacting you to build one for the FJ.
    Additions would be:
    - I would want to give you my FrontRunner boxes so that they could work with the unit.
    - Top sprayed with some sort of bed liner to keep the top looking beat up.
    - I think I also would want an additional piece of wood on the very top, on slides to act as a work surface/table

Thanks, JB. I do like the idea of the bedliner on the top, but I know that isn't for everyone. The black rustoleum is fairly durable and generic and would allow someone to add a stronger surface if desired. Of course, if someone wants a different top surface, just let me know and I can make that happen for whatever the cost of the desired surface.

Funny you mention the additional piece of wood for the top to act as a table / work surface. I was looking at it last night thinking the same thing. I could easily make this as an addition. I could also route the top to allow for a piece of wood to "drop in" without dropping down. I also figure the next one, if there is a next one, would include a fold down front face that would allow for additional space when used open ( think larger propane bottle with the camp stove ). I was also thinking that a pull out slide below one of the drawers would be awesome to have as a work area. I was thinking it could have a cutout designed to fit a standard cutting board. That way you could use it while out camping, but remove just the cutting board to put in the dishwasher when you get home.

Hopefully I'm illustrating that properly. It looks good in my head!

Also worth mentioning, JB has confirmed that it does fit in a 4th gen as well.

I need to come up your way again, and we need to grab some dinner, so we can hash out some stuff in detail.
I have done some exhausting research on both manufactured and DIY builds, to the point at which I am just ref the same stuff over and over.
I like all those ideas you mentioned, and I have a clear picture of what your describing, very similar to my thoughts.
I was also debating to allow space below the entire box for a folding camp table (you know the generic ones everyone has).
Here is a vid that shows the sliding table top:

I like that. He gives some really good ideas, and things that I definitely think I could work into future editions.

When I see you I am gonna pick you up and give you a Big JB Bear Hug!

Also, I know you will be stoked about this. Got Bud over and BudBuilt to make a set of stage 2 SS skids for my FJC. I think this is the 3rd set I have bought from him. Lol
