Glad Draco had a friend to keep him company while I was at work for a few days!

Well you three will have to come back sometime and we can explore more of Utah and Nevada. Glad to meet you all and so happy we got the truck squared away. I know I've broken down on the road before and the stress of being in limbo makes it worse. Hope having a place to stay and decompress made it a little better!

For real. Never heard of anyone having an issue with that place ever...until now. They're the ones Cruiser Outfitter sends everyone to for good work, etc so I figured he'd be well taken care of.

Lol it’s certainly not conners fault. I just happened to get the tech that was having an off day. I’m a mechanic and I understand shit happens so I’m trying to remain calm. Just itching to get back on the road.

That shop just showed you how not to be.
Imagine the props they would have gotten from TW members and friends if they would have taken care of you!

I understand. I <3 Conner. I hope to get out his way and visit.

I get that techs have bad days. We all do. Funny story about a friend that owns his own shop who had a bad day, he installed a remote start on the wife's car and forgot to attach the hood release cable. Not sure how long we would have never known. That was over 2 years ago. Still give him shit every time we see him.

I think a lot of TW members know what shop to avoid now. Stay positive, you still have many places to explore!! The Pacific Coast is nice!!

I had a Jeep shop in Florida, very well known, do some wheel studs and brakes on the back of an old company Jeep at my last job.

Jeep JK Wranglers have the small drum parking brake that rides on the inside "drum" of the rotor, while the regular brakes are disc in the back, just so you can see how it's setup back there.

They left 2 removed studs INSIDE the parking brake section of the rear brakes. Must have punched them out of the axle right into the small parking brake drum set I'm guessing, didn't see them, and never pulled them out.

Was driving to work the next morning and thought I ran over something, heard this huge bang from the rear end. Pulled over, couldn't see anything, and couldn't figure out what the hell happened. Left work in the afternoon to drive to the shop, "drove over something" again, couldn't figure it out!! Get there, pull the wheel off, pull the caliper and rotor off, and 2 studs and the whole parking brake setup crumbles and falls out of there.... I guess the studs got in between the shoe and drum surface and felt just like I drove over something, while it destroyed the inside.

Hahhaa, I couldn't help but laugh, and he was so embarrassed, especially after charging the hourly rate he charges to do something so simple, yet to do it wrong. I'll never forget that. Got a few oil changes for free after that to help remedy the situation and keep faith in them.
