I will say my short time in a tj with inline 6 and 5speed and 33 was way more of a dog than my old 22re with 33. Jeep flexed amazing and was cool, but mechanically what a pos. thought about a newer jk with the shitty motor and if it blew 5.3 it

 

I am not 100% Toyota fanboy (close though) but I do care about reliability. I hate on jeeps just because, but have nothing against them in general.

if you get a jeep you have to wheel it though.

 

They're surprisingly cheap. Got everything I need plus some other stuff for about $30 as opposed to a spindle or hinge for almost double that. Granted, I got the economy version because there won't be any articulation with these so that's the reason for the price. I like the idea of being able to fine tune the length of the swingout to get it to 100% seat how I want it to with my latch. Heims will give me about 3/4" plus and minus of length to adjust.

 

yes, Wranglers do not make great daily drivers at all. If you're going to compromise on daily driving owning a jeep you gotta at least use it for it's intended purpose.

 

I have heard horror stories about every brand though, although I will never own another Chevy anything because of how I was burned with my old ZR2 blazer. I think we also hear more "jeeps are POS" stories because we own a Toyota and the whole Jeep vs Toyota rivalry stuff.

 

It's also much easier to fit bigger tires under a Jeep than a Toyota!

 

Anything more than a 33 prolly ain't happening. My wife actually wants me to get a Jeep too so with her being 5'3 (on a good day) I won't be lifting one too high so she can get in it.

The adjustability would definitely be nice. If I didn’t get my 4x innovation hinge for about the same price I might have been looking down that road

this is true. I’d argue that jeep has never made an engine (the 4.0 comes close) as reliable as the 22r/22re though. But since none of us run that engine, it’s a moot point.

They do body armor mostly for gen 3’s I believe.

My very first truck was a '86 Yota 4x4 with the 22r in it. I got 415K out of that thing, before I buried it in the river bed when I was 16! lol
