If anyone's interested , I have an older Craftsman tablesaw I'll be putting up for sale soon. The switch was relocated to a foot pedal, and it all works as expected.
I'll probably post pics this weekend...

Is that shaft drive? That's a super pretty bike.

I have a Suzuki Vstrom 650 which is ugly as hell so most bikes look really pretty to my eyes.

Yes, it’s shaft drive. Looking at all the tech on these things is crazy impressive. All around bad ass bikes.

That's why I ride a vstrom. Oil changes and tires and that's it for maintenance and they frequently hit 100K miles. But that shaft drive is minimal maintenance. Especially compared to a chain drive.

You can get a maint plan for the first 36k. First service is 600 miles the regular oil changes and a valve check at 12k. If I’m remembering it correctly

I have a 2013 BMW R1200GSA and do all the service myself. As easy as can be. I have close to 40,000 miles on it and never had any mechanical issues with bike.

6k or annual on the camhead. Think probably the same on the newer ones. Do it yourself and save the money. I am not great with a wrench and find it easy down to adjusting the valves.

They changed the the GS in 2013 to water cooled and in 2014 changed the GSA to water cooled. So my 2013 GSA is oil cooled and the last year of them in the GSA. All the bugs worked out on my bike and never had any recalls if I remember correctly.

It is true that with new years 2013 GS and 2014 GSA many issues needed to be sorted out.
