Typically the first 2 weeks of October are the best time to get on the winter grass.

Remember, you get what you pay for, usually the more expensive seed is better, won’t turn your shoes green when you cut it!

Thinking of going camping either the weekend of the 12th, 19th, or 25th...I usually do a quick overnighter, but not opposed to doing 2 nights. Not really a trail run, per se, unless you include getting to the TBD camp (the further in the back country, the better).

    Who's in... @0uTkAsT, @Man of Steel TRD, @Rextinkleton93, @OnePuttBlunder, @StillNoPickles, etc, etc?

ETA: for sure some pew pew as well...

Question for whoever overseeds their own winter lawn- do you guys put down fertilizer every year and if so what brand? Also, do you guys put down the fertilizer first and spread it around evenly then spread seed on top? or do you put down seed then put fertilizer over it?

    basic answer is yes -

but fertilizer and topper are two different things.

i just spend 4 hours on steps 1 and 2.

if you follow the directions in the link, you:
    1. scalp
    2. thatch
    3. seed
    4. fertilizer - usually white/grey pellets think 10-10-10
    5. topper (optional) - cow poop
    6. water 4-5 times a day (most important)

That's the processed I've followed for the past about 10 years, but I've heard differing opinions from even landscapers whether put put fertilizer before or after the seed. Just wanted to get differing opinions and logic from anyone else on here.

my thought is that when you put down the seed, it ends up getting mixed about the same with the fertilizer anyway throughout the watering cycle.

Check out this off-road beast! Not the most axle locking options I’ve seen, but thought I’d share anyway. This will have one large two thousand gallon fuel tank and many hundred gallon oil tanks mounted when I’m done with it.

On the ground in Sacramento waiting to take off for Phoenix. Pilot comes on the radio and says were delayed because of planes coming into Phoenix from DC and nobody else is allowed in the airspace. Were scheduled to land at 530. Somebody important must be coming for a round of golf.

Well the summer grass goes dormant during the fall/winter, the time we all use our back yards the most.
So you got to plant perennial rye to get a lush green grass so it can be enjoyed.
