Could you explain how you wired in the steering wheel controls? I have a 2015 as well and everything installed fine but like you said I only have limited steering wheel buttons working and would like to wire up the rest of the buttons to work.

I got mine in the other day and modified the brackets. Was worries about it flying out in an accident and making it just a little tougher to pull out of the dash. Marked them and figured out where the hole needed to be and then got them secured with one screw on each side. Of course the factory screws don't fit the holes on the side of the unit so I had to scrounge around to find two small ones that would. Also took a dremel and knocked off a couple of the brackets locating bumps so it would sit flush on the new unit. Mine is a 2011 so that hole location should work on others with similar years. 20191001_113025.jpg

Got a 2011 dash kit and sadly that does not work for the clock radio situation. Looks like the only fix aside from gluing it on is getting an older radio like @arcenik did.

Here is a photo showing the wiring changes I made to get all the buttons to work. Also is the wiring diagram for a 2015 steering wheel controls.

If your radio came with multiple plugs that are not used you will notice the steering wheel wires are already split to more than one plug. I de-pinned the key2 wire from the unused plug and placed a 220ohm resistor inline and then plunged it in to pin 24 on the 28pin plug that is being used. If not you will need to find a pin for the plug.

Also the buttons work with zlink and I had them working with autokit. I programed the talk button to play/pause on the headunit. Then in the setting for zlink or autokit program play/pause to Siri. I tried to video it but you can't video and use Siri so it stopped recording.

Picked up an older radio face plate off eBay. As noted it’s not perfect but mounts up nice. One part came broken from shipping but got it mounted. They really need to make a new faceplate but it’s all bolted up. Now just need the updated harness.

Sweet setup! I wish I could get my hands on an all black climate control as they are hard to come by for a reasonable price

Thanks check ebay. I swapped all of m Off Road parts to the black SR parts. The later 2nd gen has a shiny black climate where the Base model has a matte black panel I ended with that by chance. Did not realize it was matte black but glad it was. I may pull the radio and paint the radio bracket to a matte back instead of the glossy black. That seems out of place now.

I think Iris is on to us, best I could get was $430 from them... It's on it's way to me!

Shipping confirmation this morning, I guess we'll see if it is on the "Slow Boat From China" or on one of the drug smuggler speed boats.. :)

Ok, I’m finally going to make my purchase. Which unit can support wireless CarPlay? And what adapter do I need to do it?

I dont care about wireless car play but if you have JBL system you need canabus connector. I didn’t haggle with the price because I knew they would just reduce the correct adapters needed and make you pay for those anyways. So paying full price I get everything needed. Except maybe the car play dongle

I already bought the canbus adapter for $30 directly from Iris. CarPlay is the main feature I’ll be utilizing with this radio and the less wires involved, the better. That’s why I’m asking about wireless CarPlay.
