Yea, I could use a few replacements as well. Have 3 herniated discs in my c-spine C3/C4, C4/C5, And C5/C6.

And as you can imagine there are good days, and very bad ones....

I never associated the titntinus with the neck issues.. though. Kinda assumed it was related to previous work with pyrotechnics and broadcast headphone use..

The tinnitus stopped immediately? That sentence was brutal. I have tinnitus as well, which just came up when I started using the rate control drug. If the ablation sticks, (knock on wood, it looks like it is...), I can come off that drug, and hopefully the tinnitus goes away...

Morning y’all! Stepped on a nail yesterday while doing some fence repair so I’m walking with a noticeable limp, lol

I think it's time to start looking for a new job. My schedule is dog shit, my pay is dog shit, my responsibilities keep growing seemingly by the week, but my pay doesn't. And now my built-in 8 hours of OT was stolen out from under me. Now I have two days off and they're a day apart. So I'll work 2 nights. Day off. 1 midshift. Day off. 2 nights.

Fuck this shit. I need a better job like yesterday

I'm a security guard at a.chemical plant. I do plant dispatch as well as patrol and I'm a supervisor. Basically I've risen as high as I can go.

The janitors make more than me.

I used to do security 20 years ago, it didn’t pay much then either. I left that field and went into telecom, but I don’t even do that anymore.

I can't keep pretending $13.50/hr is cutting it. Not without OT.
I'm college educated and can't afford to move out of my parents house at 31. What a world.

    Time to update the resume.

Don't quit until you find that new job. I learned that the hard way when I was in college.

Consider this a springboard to something better. How long have you had the leadership position? I think a year is good to sell yourself on that for your next role somewhere happier.

I've been with this company since Jan. And been a supervisor since March. I definately am not quitting til I find something else. I wish I could pick up a 2nd job, but because of my rediculous schedule that would be quite difficult.
I could work nights stocking for HEB at $15/hr if I didn't already work nights. Plus that random midshift fucks my sleep schedule.

What about applying for an operator or mechanic position at the plant you work at? You may have a leg up on some since you are already around the plant.

This is our security group. Their management seems pretty no-nonsense and the crews are very good.

I'm mostly mad i left work this morning with a decent schedule, 48hr week, all night shifts.
Get home see a text with newly amended schedule that's complete crap and makes it difficult to work a 2nd job to compensate for the lack of OT.

I lived that situation a while and solved it by making myself invaluable, proving I was better than the leadership I had, and then getting promoted to be THAT leadership. First thing I did was fix all the things the old boss fucked up and made everyone else responsible for bits of pieces of the work we all did. It was amazing how a group of "problem children" became the best team in the organization when they were allowed to act like adults and own the work they did.

Don't like the decisions your leadership makes? Talk to them and help them find better solutions. It could simply be that they're trying to make the best decisions they can with the information they have, and that they need better information. Be that conduit. You're already in a leadership position, so here's your opportunity to lead from below. It's a very valuable skill.
