I understand and it's a valid question that you pose.

Here's my thought, and the reason I'm concerned.

I don't have a roof rack from Victory, yet. I do have the center console panels. When I got these and installed them, there were enough burs which were sharp enough that they drew blood. And I don't have soft hands.

Extrapolate that to being out on the trail and having things stored on the roof. If I'm using the roof rack as a grab point, I don't want to stop and consider putting on gloves in case I grab it where there are burs. Or, if my wife or future kids or someone else do the same thing.

I've worked for a company who designed, cut, welded, PC'd etc in house. I know it's possible to not have this type of defect.

Maybe we were more careful because we built things people touch and interact with more than a roof rack.

Either way, it sounds like Victory is getting these growing pains resolved. I look forward to the day I buy their rack and it's pristine

Since mine was a very recent order ( after burr issue resolved ) here are the "burrs" on mine. Hardly noticable IMO.

    This is the front .

    This is the side.

I wanted to throw up a final post (from me anyway). I got my replacement parts installed last night and everything looks great. It has been a very busy few weeks at work, I have had the replacement parts for a little while. Here are my observations about this whole process.

1.) Victory and @monkeyevil have been straight-up great in dealing with this issue head-on and to my complete satisfaction.
2.) The customer service team at Victory has been top-notch.
3.) It is my understanding that Victory used the situation to improve their base process to ensure the problem doesn't get repeated moving forward.
4.) It is when something like this happens that you know what a company is like, not when everything goes smoothly.

As they say, 'stuff happens'. Victory dealt with it in a professional way and I would have zero reservations in recommending them or buying from them again.

Would you mind posting a closer picture of those mounts? The pics on Victory’s website are 100% not useful.

What’s up with all of the guys here acting like a fucking $650 roof rack is okay with tiny razor blades sticking off of it? Obviously Victory agrees that it was an issue, so why bring the tired ass mall crawler chants out. People have a right to expect a certain degree of quality from a product in this price range.

I mean you can, but it’ll overhang the cab either front or back, or both. Depending how centered you get it.

for the price of the mounts they should have included more than just 4 t-slot nuts and bolts. I would have liked to recieved 8 to secure the mounts properly...especially since the mounts cost $100

“Tiny razor blades” is a dramatic over exaggeration coming from the recent orders since the major burr issue got fixed. Look at my close up photos , you would really have to try hard to get these tiny burrs to cut your skin. Anyone who thinks that is a major issue probably carries bandaids and hand sanatizer In they’re pocket rofl aka mall crawlers :stirthepot:

I was talking about before the burr issue got fixed. That’s why I said Victory obviously agreed there was an issue. I was just amazed at how many guys said even that wasn’t an issue.

@monkeyevil I just purchased a used topper and they had already installed tracks, measured center to center at 41”

Your website states that your topper rack is

    • “Designed to fit toppers with tracks mounted 42.375" (+-0.25") center to center.

    • Am I obviously shit out of luck here making your top rack ever work with these previously installed tracks?

So has anyone found attachment that fits this rack for kayaks? Like those jhook types of something? I'm looking to be able to put 2 kayaks on the rack. Any suggestions or pictures?
