I went through Headlight Revolution for the LED replacements on the Super Duty and they're friggin awesome! The kit was definitely expensive though...

The problem with the Lariat is most of the good stuff is on a 502a. I wouldn't care much about a base Lariat over the 302a XLT. It's also around $10k more MSRP at that point, but could end up being even more than that since Ford offers lots of incentives on the XLT.

My 2.7 has the 3.73s as well. I really like the drivetrain. Only minor thing is if it skips a gear when cold (1-3 or 3-5), it's a noticeably long shift. Otherwise, it's great. I get 22-23 MPG on my rural commute all summer. 20-21 in the winter as long as I don't idle too much. The fitment issues are a little annoying--it's really all in the doors on my truck. I get chattering at certain temperatures like they aren't sealed enough. I adjusted them and they're a little better, but it's difficult to tell what's right without devoting a ton of time to trial and error.

You're right about road trips. My girlfriend has a CX5 which I do like quite a bit, but when we go to Buffalo this weekend I'll drive and we'll take the truck. For 5-1/2 hours, it's just so much more comfortable. It's kind of funny, a friend has a new Forester and a 2010 F150 XL. He comments all the time about how much quieter and smoother his work-truck spec pickup is than his loaded Forester.

I don't have to many rattles which is nice, just some things that are visually not fitting correct. Truck is super quiet on the road (for a truck). Tapping some things will create a little rattle. I'll see what the winter brings for bringing out more rattles, only had the truck since May.
Highway will get around 21-22 if I keep it under 70mph. Anything over that dips to 18-19. I've been averaging 17mpg for the 8k miles, and that's with a lot of towing, city traffic, and idling. So i'm super happy.
I noticed the same thing now that its getting cooler. Apparently if you put it in Tow/Haul mode when its cold it activates a heater so it warms the transmission up faster.

I was gonna brag about my truck having all the features everyone is mentioning in this thread, but then I remembered it's a GM product, so I better just stay quiet.

The only thing I wished it had was cooled seats. The heated seats can be nice, but I'd trade them for cooled seats in a heartbeat.

I have no rattles yet, it's still tight as a drum! But shit is rusting, that's for sure. I'd never own a GM truck if I wanted to keep it for a long time.

Frame welds, right? I looked at a couple of GM's when I was looking at 2500's and the ones sitting ON THE DEALER LOT had rusty frame welds

Yep! Frame welds, hangers, the fucking z71 shocks they are so proud of, exhaust... I'm glad I go through trucks in 3 or 4 years because this truck is gonna be a rust bucket in 5 years.

My F150 didn't have any rattles, but if you didn't have the radio on you could hear a weird shimmying noise from the seat fabric rubbing against itself, kind of like corduroys but more subtle. And the lower latches on the rear supercab doors froze in the 'open' position a couple of times, too. That was fun...

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
I didn't think you were old enough to know what corduroys were!

I was born in '84; I had plenty of zip-zop pants as a kid.

My 4Runner has the deicers :D. I used to do the same thing with the Tacoma. Just hit the switch enough to get them where the defroster is.

One of the reasons I like the 4Runner is it's still old school in many ways, so things like the radio aren't complicated to replace. I'm actually happy with the sound too. I may eventually try one of those Android units though.

    Land Cruiser? Nice !
Yup, those wiper de-icers come standard on all 4Runners (my father's SR5 has them, though I don't think he will use them, as he didn't use them in his Outback when he had that car. And I will have to remember about that trick with the wipers on my Tacoma). And I have to agree about the stereo as well, even in stock form, it sounds just fine, I wouldn't change it.
