So I'm an idiot and placed a 24-pack case of water on the back seat for about two months. Removed it last night and found out it had left some pretty sizable indentations in the seat foam, most of which are still there today. They have become less noticeable, but still there.

Will these gradually come out over time? Any way to speed up the foam recovery? Do I need new seats? :bananadead:

Does it bother you that much lol. I mean replacing the seat is a bit extreme. Try taking a shopvac and sucking the indents out haha

Nah, it's not something I would replace the seats over, just curious if it fixes itself. Never had this happen to me before lol.

Go look at your couch where people have been sitting. Think that's going to pop up anytime soon by itself? More than likely perminant. Try steam cleaning and vacuuming.

Good luck! You could always try getting people to sit on it for extended trips to even out the foam that hasn't dented either.

Good idea. Most of the dents look better today, but a couple are taking their time.

Here’s what it’s looks like under your seat covers...medium density polyurethane foam. Nothing special

I'm curious why would you leave a case of water on your seat for 2 months?
It will come back to form/shape to some degree, however not all the way to original.

I would imagine it will come back out eventually on its own. I wouldn't try doing anything to speed it up.

Honestly I kinda forgot about it back there. I bought it awhile back to take on a trip but ended up not going on the trip, and never removed it.

An upholstery steamer will take them out in about 2 seconds.

Don't pay for one unless you have other uses for it. Take it to your local trim/upholstery shop. Might charge you $25.
