    That is my intention. It is interesting that all of the reports I've seen of this failure has been on the passenger side.

    No bump steer for me though. An inch and a half forward I think is too much likely.

    Drop bracket lift and booger welds
    So I know I mentioned this in Brett's thread, but I seriously am considering a combination of the TC coil bucket gussets, and this:

    For the mere fact that it is tying into another part of the frame to put downwards pressure on the coil bucket. Though I have little hopes that I can get a secondary shock in there with 35's.

    Not worth it if you're not running dual shocks, IMO. Just build a crossbrace, which is what I'll be doing shortly.

    Or you can see if Dirt Designs will do another run of their top hats with provisions for a secondary shock and a crossbrace.

    But I might be able to get a secondary shock if I switch wheels. I like that it would give me the reinforcement and the option, but another $500 after getting some uca's and ads shocks might tell me my budget won't let it happen.

    I agree; I combined my strut top plate with a lower limit strap tab in the same kit because I think bottoming and topping repeatedly is what destroys the towers.

    BTW, my LCA reinforcement stuff is in queue next; Assburns has been hammering on it for about a year now with no new LCA cracks since the install, so that's a good sign...

    The catch is that he has had limit straps for 2 years...so doesn't really seem to help either.

    In fairness, my kit isn't designed specifically for his incident; I still believe that the combination is a factor in strut tower deformation.

    I don't doubt that it contributes to it. But he has limit straps already which didn't help him prevent it. All I'm saying.

    To be fair, my straps have been torn for a while and probably not doing as much as they should. :oops:

    I just replaced them in hopes it helps prevent further cracks.

    Anybody fixed cab mounts like this w/o removing the cab? This passenger rear is the worst. Yes, I know all about opinions on body lifts which I admit may have contributed to this. Along with overloading and washboard.

    Yep, that's the general plan. Easy enough if the bed was off and upside down. It's a little harder to get at w/o doing that - although it'll be sort of self aligning by doing one point at a time. I think the lift posts are supposed to go on over the "original" body mounts. If that's how these were done, that original rubber is toast. New stock type mounts are ordered, with a plan to salvage the lift posts and use new bolts. Then, cut/form/weld some 1/8" steel sheet to make new cab platforms. Really only one sentence worth of work.

    Cleaned up 18 years of crud to do a more thorough inspection. Both LCAs have damage where the lower shock mounts are welded to the arms.

    Brett @Squeaky Penguin the driver side coil bucket is intact and has no cracks that I could see. But there are definitely lots of signs that it is flexing. A lot of the powder coating has flaked off. I think it might be from the metal deflecting.

    Time for an XLT kit to fix all your problems at once! :p

    If you take off the mudflaps and don't have any bedside support, they'll always crack.

    Luckily, I cut enough of the bedside off that I don't have that issue. :D
