Hi all, nice to be here :)
Have '19 Tacoma, double cab, 4WD, 5ft bed.
Thinking - level and probably raise as well - 3" front, 2" back.
Also want to install 285/75R16 tires on the stock (16") rims. Have 265/70R16 installed now.
Does anyone have this configuration? Is there any rubbing without switching wheels with different offset?
    Thank you
    .G
I realize the chance that someone has this exact configuration AND stumbles upon this post is small, but.. I still hope

I have same Tacoma and thinking exactly the same other than having a sport with 17” rims.

Do you have stock wheels? What tires do you have? and is your track lifted/leveled? if so, how much?
Thank you for the reply. :)

You will rub for sure. 285 will rub even on aftermarket wheels with a lift and perfect alignment.

CFCE38FC-61EF-4664-9567-6F9253072EA7.jpg Yes it will rub. I have 275/75/r15 and it still rubs after a 2”lift and 3” spacers

Have just had my Tacoma ( second one I have owned ) for just about a month. Tires stock 265/65/17 with no lift yet. Have been reading about lift availability’s, types and costs related to function. Personally think the 3/2 lift looks best with a 285 tire. Rubbing possibilities seem like try and see. I think a good shop who sells and installs tacoma combinations will be best advice yet even that may be questioned due to Toyota making different models and changes during builds.

I have had numerous trucks, 4x4 for many years. I love my new Tacoma.

Yes you will have rubbing and will want to get a CMC done. Might even have to beat/cut some areas of the fender well back depending on your up-travel and what not.

Also will want to consider aftermarket UCA's with a lift of 3" up front

Just get skinny 33’s and keep the suspension stock.

    255,85r16 will fit no rubbing.

You know you don’t have to push your wheel out as far as you can to find less rubbing, right? When I put 315s on I immediately put on spacers, had insane rubbing, then took them off and had minimal rubbing.

But I won’t give away my secret formula....

I have skinny's, 255/80/17 and was rubbing occasionally depending on suspension flex. Still not a bad idea to get a CMC to avoid that. If you can find a shop or someone to do it without ripping you off big time. @YamaDirtrider and @Red Baron did mine for me at Foothills Fab

I decided on a OME BP-51 2” lift for my 2017 SR5 DCSB 4x4 for better off road handling and larger tires. Went with KO2 285/70/17’s which my tire shop said were their most popular choice for lifted Tacoma’s.

I found lots of choices for leveling depending, less expensive and functional blocks and spacers for that level “look” or more functional and expensive springs/shocks and AAL’s for both the look and better performance.

Didn’t want to redo things later because of trying to save money first, so I went with the more expensive full suspension lift deciding to do it right the first time, or at least thats the hope!

My cost were $3245 for the lift from Headstrong Offroad, $958 for the tires on sale and $405 to have it all installed, tires mounted and balanced, complete 4 wheel alignment and installed a full RCI skid package.

I am very happy with my choice, have the larger tires with no rubbing issues and much improved handling on and off road and a slight rake front to rear that I prefer.

Cab Mount Chop and Upper Control Arm.

Pretty much the most common place to rub with larger tires is the "Cab Mount" inside the wheel well. A little boxed piece of the frame that protects the actual cab mount. So, you can cut it back and weld a new plate in that gives you that much more clearance to not rub.

This guy on 4runner.org explains aftermarket UCA's pretty simply in my mind, just ignore first bit about the 4runner
    upload_2019-10-2_21-27-58.jpg

As well as a reference picture from when I got my CMC done. I'm holding the new plate up that will be welded in.

How do I find the wheel offset on the stock wheels on '19 Tacoma?
    Thank you
