A guy in town had a COPO 80ish Malibu with 350, 4bbl dual exhaust,gauges and a 4sp.
Got it from a GM exec who had it built that way.

1993-1994 Ford Ranger XLT SuperCab 4x4; automatic (presumably 4.0L), A/C, cruise/tilt, power windows, power locks, cassette player (basically fully loaded); I believe this one is a former shop truck; I have no idea what's wrong with it, but it has like 203K miles on it...

 

Air-conditioned? There are a lot of things I'm willing to go without in a vehicle (I've been driving a base model Tacoma for a decade); A/C and heat are not among those things! I'm also assuming this "COPO" Malibu had a posi rear?!?!

 

This is another abandoned vehicle, from out of state; It has a Virginia inspection sticker valid through November 2019. I can't help but wonder how often salvage yard owners find various forms of incriminating evidence or even dead bodies in the cars they bring in...?!?! This 1995-2002 Lincoln Continental had a dead battery, but it still had enough juice for the door chime to work...

 

Now we know where Jerry Sandusky's vehicle ended up...

 

This 2006ish Ford Escape was abandoned in the parking lot of a nearby hospital for unknown reasons...

 

I think that white one was the only one; There's also a V6/5-speed Dodge Dakota Sport jigsaw puzzle if you're interested, but that doesn't have A/C...

 

What is it with the seemingly decent abandoned Ford Escapes?!?!

Obviously if someone disappears and the police are investigating, they'll probably take the missing person's vehicle as evidence and eventually return it to the next of kin. Therefore, I highly doubt any of these vehicles are linked to a kidnapping and/or murder...



I believe one of the following things happened:

• The vehicle experienced some sort of catastrophic (and expensive) mechanical failure.
• The vehicle was not paid off yet and something broke, so they just abandoned it.
• The owner is incarcerated and has no next of kin to claim the vehicle
• The owner is wanted and fled the area.

 

A 2005-2006ish Chevy Equinox (I could tell what year it was by looking at the factory radio) with a pair of randomly discarded crutches...
