I have TWO 3DR Solos... One is completely original and brand new in the box. $250. Attach your iPhone or Android phone to the controller, connect to the WiFi network it creates, attach a GoPro (or not) and you're off flying. Great for beginners as the settings allow you to dampen the controls in case you bump it too much it doesn't just fly to the moon immediately...

The other one has a bunch of extras (batteries, props, gimbal, waterproof hardshell Pelican-like case, and more) so I'd have to figure out a price if anyone was interested.

Does anyone experience oscillation on 225? Or does my suspension suck? I installed a camper and rear bumper on my truck and now I feel like the oscillation is worse.

 

So a little update on my gas bill debacle... theres no water heater leak but maintenance says that the unit seemed hotter than it should be and turned down the thermostat.

At 6pm my water is on the verge of scalding...no noticeable decrease in temperature. I dont have a prior measurement from before they turned it down, but my facet is coming out at 123-125 degrees which to me seems a little high.

I asked the gal who is supposed to be handling this what the plan was...are we just going to wait another month and see how my bill shakes out? She didnt know what the next step was. The manager was unavailable and waiting for a call back from corporate.

So my question to those more knowledgeable is...if the thermostat was suddenly failing and constantly heating water to over 120 degrees, would that be a possible explanation for quadruple the gas usage in the course of a month? Seems logical to me.

 

That’s no deal at all. I can get a 30 box for 16.99 which means I can get the equivalent of a 60 box for 33.98 which is still $17+ less than that oddly shaped 54 pack.

I'm not going to call myself knowledgeable, but one would think that if it was constantly firing the maintenance guy would notice that. One would also hope that the maintenance guy knows enough to know when he needs to call a dedicated pro because the thing may have an issue or be failing. The temps you mention don't seem out of line - supposedly (according to a couple of random Google results) they often come factory at either 120 or 140, and I know it's usually recommended for energy efficiency to set it at 120, and I know I've tweaked a few a bit up from that in places I've lived. But that said, a bad thermostat or controller could definitely be an issue.

If you have access to your gas meter, you could do a little investigation. Check and see if you can hear the water heater firing when you get home and haven't used any hot water, see how the meter is spinning. Take a good hot shower to drain it down and force the thing to come on, and check it again. Could also be something bad with the gas meter. Assuming you can get to them and they're ganged, see if any others look like they're behaving similarly to yours. IMHO, management should have already called Xcel and requested a leak check.

 

At my work we heat our domestic hot water to 116-125. So your water heater looks like it is heating fine. Could be a leak between the gas gauge and apartment or maybe a leak at the heater.

 

My turn to ask advice. So this morning on my drive down to a client site, about a third of the way there I was given cause to go wide open throttle for a bit. As soon as I did so, I heard air like a rapid tire leak or a blown hose. It stopped when I went back to normal throttle. About 2/3 of the way there I got a chance to test again to see if I could replicate, and sure enough as soon as I went wide open it was back and stopped as soon as I let up. This time I was able to at least think I localized it to exhaust related.

I did a brief Google when I got to the site and the first thing that came up was failed cats and plugged exhaust. Great. Went about my day, then before heading home I checked the engine bay for loose hose connections just in case, and glanced at the exhaust to notice nothing really amiss. Again on the way home tried to replicate it a couple of times... and couldn't. It wouldn't do it again all the way home. Except I might have heard it more quietly when driving past a wall that could reflect sound back toward the truck, not really sure.

Truck has just under 86k miles on it and is garage parked. No lights on the dash have come on, I haven't tried to read codes (no idea of codes can throw that don't light up the dash). It literally only happened when I put my foot on the floor and stopped as soon as I let up. No noticeable loss of power, starting hasn't been any different than normal (or if it has I've attributed that to battery potentially reaching end of service). Obviously I need to do a bit more thorough checking underneath and with someone to rev engine for me, but... thoughts anyone?

 

Sounds exactly like mine. It’s rather a leak in the exhaust or a blown muffler.
I know mine is is dented and has a baffle inside broke

Second gen guys, what do you reckon this ground wire is for? This is Kens truck. He left Moab and has been cruising around Arizona and the Grand Canyon area. He said everything is working fine so he aint gonna mess with it but from what I can tell in the picture, it is a non insulated wire on the driver side of the frame. Its an 08/09 OR.

 

Sounds like a performance mod that bypasses your cats & muffler when you’re hammering down... not a bad idea.
