What Makes an SR5

Or better yet how do I know if I have an SR5 or not. When I bought My 2008 Prerunner with the TRD off road package used a few months ago it had already been debadged. And I was wondering if there is some thing on the truck that will definitively tell me if it’s an SR5 or not.

My truck is the opposite of yours. it has the TRD offroad stickers...but in fact is not.

 

You can have the dealer run the VIN and find out the original options on the vehicle.

 

Hmmm mine is the prerunner sr5 the only missing is the offroad package pretty much about it.

An SR5 option package adds luxury equipment such as air conditioning, tilt steering, and variable intermittent wipers. The price and content of the SR5 package varies with cab, engine, and driveline. V6 Doublecabs and V6 Xtracab 4x4's can be ordered with a similar Limited package, which includes most SR5 content plus power windows, locks and mirrors.

Guess it mostly just means "a fancy stuff package".

Buy this list I guess I do have an SR5 but I thought that those were Qualifiers for the TRD package.

 

i think every tacoma now is a SR5 besides your cheapest base work truck with no a/c or power windows

 

TRD Offroad package specifically are:

-265/70/R16 BF Goodrich Tires with solid white lettering (I believe these are BF Goodrich Rugged trails - same as in the current gen offroad package).
-Fog Lamps
-Locking rear differential
-Offroad tuned suspension with Bilstein Shocks
-Transfer case Skidplate
-Sport seats with sport fabric and driver-side lumbar support
-Multi-function overhead console with compass and outside temperature
-Front tow "J" hook
-Front stablizer bar
-TRD offroad package graphics

They should go back to the days when you got a big sheet with a bunch of squares to check off. You didn't have to have this package to get this feature. Now there are all these badges to remove. whew. lol good finds, and thanks for the info. On the little description at the dealeship mine was called a base model but I have the SR5 badging.

 

u still have upgrades on that truck..... true base have no fogs, 5 lug, weaker suspension

 

That sounds right I just thought that the previously stated SR5 list was additionally part of the TRD list.
