The idea I'm havin is to have the truck temps better than stock and AFRs that are legit, a sound setup. From my driving since the S/C, I don't get tailgated. There is no lag in second gear where the guy behind me almost hits me when I'm shifting. So it's pretty nice. I'm forgetting about hills because it just goes. October 14th appointment is about making sure it's all ok even though stock with S/C, I'm sure we can tune it to run nicer.

Anyone looking to buy a supercharger, URD usually has them on sale for black friday, but it's the package with the 7th injector and piggyback ECU... Still a good deal if you don't use the 7th injector.

Shouldn't have much issue selling the 7th kit either and making out even better on the supercharger purchase

I'll probably wait for the black friday sales. I really need to fix the suspension first. The ride has progressively gotten worse the last few thousand miles.

I could go cheap with some monroe shocks and general springs to get me by but kinda view that as a waste of money. Would prefer to do it right the first time. So that is my priority but going up hills and and altitude you can tell the Taco struggles, at least mine is.

Hey, does anyone know how to determine the condition of a supercharger that the selller has no known condition history? Maybe a visual check of some sort? There a guy selling a 2nd gen black supercharger that’s been sitting in his shop for years that was forgotten about , comes with no hardware, pulley, belt, etc. He wants $1,500 for it. Any opinions welcomed.
    Thanks!9FF23710-3C6B-467D-9242-9AEAFEF508DB.jpg496BFCED-1953-401A-91C5-A7A3BE431C62.jpg EC7DF1A3-D4C0-47A7-A2B5-2D024E23263B.jpg

I'm sorry that I missed your post. I haven't been on the forum for a few weeks. I'm in Broomfield, so about an hour or so from you and at roughly the same altitude. I installed my supercharger in 2015 and my truck had about 100k miles on it. It is a 2000 Tacoma, with the 3.4 V6 and 5-speed manual. If you are running the stock pulley, you shouldn't have any problem with the supercharger. You may experience the HG-LR (high gear, low RPM) ping, as I have. Running cooler plugs and higher octane fuel is recommended and should reduce or eliminate the pinging.

That’s one of the reasons I’m on the fence about it, zero hardware etc. just the blower only

Yeah. Some of those bolts and pulleys can be hard to find.

You can also reach out to Magnusson for a parts list or see if they would have it

It’s definitely used and looks like the snout was taken off as the bolts are not even tighten down.
So expect to have to do some repairs along with finding all the other parts.

The pulley has wear on the groves too, so there is a good chance it had a problem and was taken off the truck.

Your buying a gamble at that price and could be a bad buy depending on what needs to be done.

A full rebuild is 1000.00 plus 1500 plus xxx for parts.

    Not really a good deal

Spin it, listen for obvious indicators, bearings scraping, excessive lash in the rotors or if they are contacting the housing. If you have a bore scope you can try and sneak it in the runners to see if the rotors are damaged at all. Some of it is hard to listen for though and your only really going to find out once you open it up.
He give you any indication on usage/mileage? Thats your #1 way to estimate if problems will occur or if a rebuild is needed. Which I would do anyway.
