Someone please make a kit to use a regular key to operate these trucks... I hate the idea of a key fob getting damaged or a battery dying in the middle of nowhere

If your fob battery dies, you can press the fob up against the start button and the truck will start.

    Win two ways.

Transmission that doesn't shift with only maximizing mpgs in mind, no overheating, no downshift lag on corner exit, pleasantly surprise new passengers, roll start possible

No crazy button to start your truck, roll start possible, turn the truck off an coast stealth mode

I love not having to take the fob/key out of my pocket. Multiple stops throughout the day, touch the handle, push a button, its great. As stated above, there is an emergency process in case the battery does die, and you have the small key in the fob to unlock the door in that case.
I am looking into the smart lock for my house so I dont have to deal with house keys anymore too.

I agree! One of the best things since self-service gas.

I didn't dislike the SMART key system when I bought my 2019, but I was thinking "what's the big deal over this push button start?"
Well, 8k miles later; I love it! I've been seen pulling on the handle of my 2017 Ford, and hopping in, only to have to dig the key out of my pocket. Give it time, you may end up appreciating it.

I love putting the key in the ignition, flooring the clutch, and firing up my truck with a turn of this solid feeling key. I don't know who at Toyota suggested keeping the key, but I could hug 'em.

But then I'm a manual guy. I WOULD enjoy such technological throwbacks.

BTW, this key is an excellent ear wax removal tool.

Have you considered this? I think there is an adapter kit available on Amazon.
