Chopping the tacoma exhaust

    Is there a reason to leave the exhaust the way it sits, lately the exhaust has been bugging me like crazy. Axle cut or dumped exhaust, anybody had issues with rattling

    i chopped mine on this truck and my last tacoma. no issues before, or after.

    I was quoted 200 for side exit
    thats pushing the muffler back 2 feet and custom piping to route it out the side

    Looks just like @singletrack_ftw's photo. Zero cost. Used a sawzall. Could use a hand saw too, if you don't have access to power tools. Took about 5 minutes total.

    Why? And for where? Do you realize how many trucks have exhaust chopped just like this?

    I’m not going to let the truck sit and idle in the garage.
