I recently tried to renew my registration online (2017 TRD Sport 4x4) and was unable to without reason, I then tried to call and was unable to without reason. I emailed the DMV to ask why I was unable to renew my registration and they told me it's due to an emissions recall and to see my dealership. Well... the only recall I have is the A/C blower motor recall (how the fuck is that an emissions recall?) I replaced the A/C blower motor on my own a few months back but supposedly I have to do it the legit way in order to renew. Long story short fuck the DMV and fuck CA. I've lived here my whole life but I'm over it. Also this bullshit registration is costing me $493.

You could always choose to not live in California.

Op- what year is your truck?

Just a general suggestion: maybe add the year to your truck info?

Just bought my taco out of state and now going through the process of registering in California. I need a weight certificate, smog certificate and they need to verify the vin#. Apparently if you buy one in California they somehow know the weight? Lol, stupid! Registration was 541$

Oh great, mine is the same year. The best answer for this would be to go to the Toyota care website and type in your Vin number to see if there is in fact a TSB or recall for it. Were you trying to get a 2020 registration? I got mine with no problems.

I think he meant that he replaced the AC blower motor himself.

I had to deal with this earlier this year. Had to get a document from the dealer certifying the recall had been performed and take it to the DMV. If you have AAA you can go to one of their offices instead which is much faster. Cash only though

Don’t forget Prop 65, every part on your truck “potentially” causes cancer.

If enough people and small businesses sue then it can be overturned.

I hear you. I think the DMV is a bunch of crap!!!! They charge way to much money for any of there services. And don't forget if you have to go into a DMV you have to wait for over 2 hours just to get to the counter. :annoyed:
