Bikers waving to each other means hey look, another one survived the ride.

Truck owners waving to each means, meet me behind the Waffle House on route 9.

Motorcycle wave is 2 fingers down for keep 2 wheels down.
So you have to go all broken wrist and flail 4 fingers down.
But yes generally everyone in my area waves. Its friendly and we care about are neighbors. I wave at most all Toyota pickups and wheelers.

I get more kicks out of frenetically waving at random people. If they don't appreciate it, I give them a thumbs down, laugh and drive away.

When I had my Raptor, other Raptors always flashed their lights at you. Then the second gens came along and ruined it...those guys were too busy fixing their hair to see other trucks coming.

I think Jeep guys do it, but when I'm in my Grand Wagoneer, they just look confused.

Some motorcycle people do it, I have a bunch of different bikes so it is interesting to see who waves and who does not depending on what I am riding.

Motorcycle ADV riders flip each other off, it is called the salute. I guess people could get offended if you are not "in" on it.

In the old days the guys on the Duramax forum changed their DRLs to yellow, it was fairly easy to spot another forum member.

An upheld fist, palm forward, thumb tucked, is a T in sign language, maybe that is appropriate for us?

Wave protocol seems to vary by neighborhood. I have a cabin off of a somewhat remote country road. The local protocol seems to be that every TRUCK owner waves to each other when passing. No matter if the truck is a domestic or a Toyota. Those driving cars and SUVs don't wave. I don't understand it but I follow their lead to fit in. :notsure:

Since buying this Toyota several months ago I waved at several other Toyota owners only to be rejected. I quit waiving, you want to wave go ahead. I can't handle anymore rejection.

I've also noticed motorcycle riders won't wave at mopeds even though the moped driver is waiving frantically like pee wee herman.

I don’t wave to anyone even when I rode. The feeling of rejection when they didn’t do it back made me uncomfortable.

So if you see someone just randomly flipping you the bird, I’m just saying hello and good day

Wave away, it’s nice to be friendly.
Craby people just complain, just because.

It was. Famously used by some athletes during the playing of the anthem at the Olympics back in the day. The then version of taking a knee, among other things.

I wave or at least lift my fingers off the wheel as a greeting to other Tacoma drivers. Fifty-fifty shot on getting a response. More likely out of town than in town but outside of town just about everybody gives some kind of greeting to others so that's no measure. It's a fly-over country thing; city folks may not understand.

I accidentally did a Jeep wave at a Taco once when I was on my motorcycle. It's a miracle any of us are still alive.

Ok. Now I get it. You and I never knew each other before this but since we chose the same kind of vehicle, we are in a special club for special people who drive special trucks. That deserves more than a wave. First wave, then do a u turn and pull me over and I’ll give you my money and let you screw my girlfriend.
