That's terrifying. I actually left the office a little early because they picked up practice towards the end of the day and I couldn't take it. Nope, nope, nope.

Every time I go to that rancho office for meetings I feel like there’s something going on in the air because of Mather. I feel bad for the call reps who work in that office. lol

It affected my dad the worst. When the plane hit, it came apart and the wing tore off. He saw it coming at him and when he tried to run, he tripped. That saved his life. The wing passed over him. Had he been standing, would have cut him in half at the waist. When he got sick he was delirious most of the time, reliving missions he was on in Vietnam and Libya. He also went through Flugtag. Needless to say he was deemed 100% disabled and PTSD was put as part of his cause of death. He was a broken man afterwards.

You should hear them in downtown SF with the acoustics of the high rise buildings.

The Prius is great. We have a 2013 with well over 100k and not one problem. If I have to run down to LA I take it since only $25 or $30 bucks gas. Can’t best that.

Just spitballing numbers, but TRD is $380 and is tuned, will retain value and will give you a slight increase in sound without blowing your cab out with drone when you’re cruising down the highway. Bolts in, so you can install it for free in your own driveway, or a parking lot somewhere if you had to.

Buying a muffler and having it welded in is probably $200+ total price, and has none of those benefits and will almost certainly not make you happy.

If you’re wanting to spend less, I’d keep an eye out for a used TRD setup (owner trading in truck and going back to stock, totaled truck, etc) or keep it as it is.

Aftermarket muffler just welded on is very likely to be something you regret. Some get lucky and it’s exactly what they wanted, but a little extra noise is really where the TRD shines. It’s exactly what you want.

Just my opinion, have had a lot of exhaust work done. Exhaust is one area where your result has much more correlation to the investment than other mods. Cheap mufflers are just that, and every time your engine is running it’ll remind you, especially at cruising speed.

I paid 80 bux at my local muffler shop. I gained zero HP but it does the job and sounds great.....what are your goals?

I bought a used Prius this summer: 2005, 160k miles and the batteries are still in great shape. My brother put 300k on his 07 Prius with no issues. My friend has 200+ right now on her 05 with zero issues also.
