I live in San Francisco and it still takes me 45 minutes any time of day to get downtown. It’s always traffic.

Went downtown once at 2 AM and it took me about ~50 minutes.

What economy? Lol Gary use to be a thriving little city. It’s sad driving through there seeing all the beautiful old architecture Going to hell.

Fun fact, trump tried buying Gary years ago to try and restore it. This is like 15 years ago if I remember right.

Amazing what can happen when one company starts cutting jobs in a area

Pupusas are so freaking good, there's a food truck that makes them and comes by our work once a week or so.

eat too many though and you'll find out what puts the pupu in pupusa, just sayin

you guys get beautiful weather there and lots of amazing food.

I found the city overwhelming, though. Even living around Denver which is "small" for a city I've been wanting to get back into a smallish town for the last few years

You sound like you would fit in well where I live. Enough of a city to have a small downtown for a night out, but still tiny in comparison to Charlotte or Raleigh.

    You haven’t experienced Chicago traffic.

Hell your likely to get shot. When I was la the traffic was almost as bad. But Chicago is still worse

I've never been to Chicago so I can't say, but the worst traffic (worse than LA) that I've ever seen was in NYC. How in the hell anyone expects to get anywhere even by taxi is beyond me. Granted their traffic is confined to a considerably smaller area than LA.....NYC is only about 300 square miles whereas LA is 500.

Just looked up Chicago and its only 234 sq miles....that probably explains why it's so bad there. So many people working and living within such a small relative area.

It is pretty old, but we work right next door to a service facility, they both came back with clean bills if health. Wouldn't mind some new ones tho

Haha really, SF was overwhelming? IMO SF is one of the least overwhelming big cities out there. At least in comparison to Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, New York, etc.

You came here during a really rare weekend where the weather was perfect. It brings out a lot of tourists.

    The weather usually sucks here.

Sounds like it. i got a lot of shit for moving to the outskirts of Denver but I rarely go into town and my weekends are spent in the mountains rather than in the city. That said I don't mind going out once or thrice a month

I grew up in a town of 40k~ and the GF lives in a town of 30K and I'm pretty jealous of where she is at
