Ive been thinking about a bubble level for my rifle. At what yardage do they start to help? I always figured I'd get one once I started shooting past 500.

A lot of that depends on you - some people are much better at holding their rifle level. Having said that, you likely are going to see much benefit inside of 800, but it all depends on you and the target size. There is no harm in putting it on your rifle, just make sure you position it where you can see it with your off-eye. It isn't doing you much good if you have to break your shooting position.

    Hell of a lunch break!

I am going to miss the lack of bulk my ARMS 22s had... but I’m tired of hearing people yammer on and on about repeatable zero.

Was the ARMS mount giving you problems?

Mount is a EGW steel 20moa.

ARMS 22 are their steel QD rings. I’ve got two sets collected over the years. Never had a problem with returning to zero on any rifle they’ve been on... and it’s been a lot in some less than desirable conditions. I have a SWFA SS 20x in the other set that rides on my 40xb-hb trainer.

FWIW I have a ARMS 18 on my M14, and I love it... while the ARrrrfff forum fan boys was jerking off LaRue and bashing on ARMS, my friends and I were using the eff out of our ARMS parts and they worked. But wtf do I know?!?

I’m new to the PRS game and honestly The more I play newbie, the more people are willing to help. My last/only shoot I was asked “have you ever shot at a target past ONE THOUSAND YARDS?!”. To which I replied “the last time I did that was with a MK19”. Everyone in the squad chuckled. Didn’t need to tell them this was far from the first time to engage targets beyond 1k with a rifle. Just trying not to be “that guy”.

Here... it’s a different story

Shows you how much they know. LaRue. Lol. Arfcom loves them.

The best I have found for retaining zero when removing the mount and reinstalling it is Spuhr. But even that will be off by 1-2 tenths of a mil. ...so that begs the question, who cares? You have to re-zero any way, or at least check it, so who cares if you turn 0.1 or 0.4 mils? And hell, how often does someone actually have to remove the scope and reinstall it?

But you chose well with Seekins. Lots of people use them with great results. Heck, it seems like most people in this region have shifted from Badger to Seekins or Vortex (re-packaged Seekins).

I would sometimes swap my scope twice a day. Once when the sun came up, and once when it went down.

No worries, this was in a previous life. Definitely not the norm, now I just use the QD rings because I have them.

And yes, the aaarfcom people are all up in LaRue’s genitals.

    Just getting started...
I like their stuff, it's solid kit. But there are a lot of companies making good gear now. It's not the stand out it once was. But have you played with their $87 trigger? Fantastic for the money.

My biggest objection was the $14 shipping for 2x pmags. Box had mags and 687lbs of NRA/partisan propaganda. Was quite annoying.

I’m totally guessing here, but I’d say a dedicated thermal or IR scope.

    Showa 1500 thoughts?

Found a good deal on a used one. I don't know much about the brand other than it's Japanese.

Looking for a entry to mid level bolt gun for huntings / target to start with.

The barreled action has potential - the problem is those Hogue over-molded stock. They are as flimsy as overcooked spaghetti, and I have seen first hand how frustrating those Hogue stocks can be. If your plan is to shoot long range and are going to put it in a chassis or something like that, you will likely be very happy with it.

It's probably sufficient for hunting as-is.
