TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

Audio install is almost done so I started on my “sleeper” meth install.

 

So this actually didnt work lol. At like 1 am I tried to impulse buy the fuck out of this and they wont ship to my address. California maybe?

 

It is Cali. I think eBay was the work around or you can use my address but there is probably somebody closer than NC. Flat rate is flat rate though, let me know and I can help.

Hit up Hinson Motorsports through either their own website or through eBay. They hook it up and it gets out here to you real quick.

 

Fail, bus sounds like eBay or Hinsen is the way around the ca nonsense.

 

man I hope i do not get restricted in CA. I hate it on Ebay or what not and they won't shop to CA.

 

is it better to get the pro version off the gate or upgrade later? I am working on the setup so I can do data logging so the Pro is happening now oar later. in case I see a deal on something wanted to see options at hand.

 

It's a legality thing. Amazon does it to cover their ass in the similar fashion that Summit Racing does it to cover theirs.

If this state wasn't so communistic they wouldn't have to do that but they are afraid of getting unnecessary fines so they would rather just not altogether.

You can data log without the pro, just need to have the laptop sitting in the passenger seat

 

Which is easy, hit the space bar once the truck is running to record, do your drive time as needed and once you are all done hit the space bar again. Easy peasy.

 

Thats good to know. Seems worth it to get the Pro I gathered. Any reason to not get it besides the extra cost? I assume if i want to data log without the laptop is a key part and possibly flashing other ECU or multiple ECU?

 

Bent valve. Keepers fell off. Slapped the piston.

how was it running prior to engine out? Did you have any compression at all?

 

ran and drove. just misfire on that cylinder no compression at all.

 

Valve train upgrade and done, or full build?

 

FWIW, you can add Pro features any time. Last I checked, it was the same price either way and, as I understand it, the only benefit Pro offers is the ability to log analog inputs. Bottom line: I'd wait, unless the money is burning a hole in your pocket or you intend to log analog inputs right away.

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will chime-in, if I'm misinformed...

 

Thanks, that is what I thought was one of the main ones. seems like it can be upgraded whenever. I did get my ARF guauge to log analog but getting started the extra $$$ could go elsewhere
