Damages are just over $14K. Won't be getting truck back for over 1 month but I am fine with that. The shop that is repairing is definitely taking care of things. Hard to believe that hitting a deer can cause so much damage, must be the way I hit it. Crazy thing is I have had this truck for almost 3 years and hardly drove it just to preserve the newness. Not any more. I plan on enjoying the hell out of it once I get it back.

Yeah I hear you, I hit a deer in my car and it was around 10k too, I thought they were going to total it, it was only worth 15k at the time but they fixed it and it's as good as new. The whole front end was smashed in just like yours, needed a new rad, ac compressor, bumper, hood, drivers side door. Just make sure they use all OEM parts no aftermarket crap. And make sure the paint blend is right. I got mine back and at first the paint was off, I didn't accept it and the shop corrected the paint

Dang glad your ok. Shit seeing this makes me miss my F150....hit 2 deer, different times. Only cost me a new grille, condenser, ac recharge, and a door mirror. The bumper got pulled back out with a tow strap and a nice tree.....

Thanks for the advice, I will definitely check the paint. My 4Runner had the same damage from something before me and now the paint on the hood and front left fender look like shit. Probably looked good when the work was done.

No problem, make sure it's not dark when you pick it up, also it's not raining. A wet car with fresh paint you won't be able to tell until it dries. Don't for get to check all the gaps in the body too. Good luck!

Your failure to stop (or even attempt to) exemplifies your indifference to driving safety and at a responsible speed. There’s zero reason to hit this deer besides your ignorance and stupidity, there’s no possible way you instantly determined that was a deer and not a human being and decided to smash it anyway. What an asshat, that could have been a child or a 2000Lb cow yet you just plowed it and never touch the brakes....

Wtf man? Most recommend not swerving, standing on the brakes, etc., when you're about to hit a deer. And do you think he had enough time to process all that was going on and make a conscious decision to "plow it over?" Do they even make deer where you live?

Im glad no one was injured in the collision. And I like your change in mindset. Life is too short...may as well enjoy the time you have. All material things can be replaced or repaired.

Here’s what happens to a truck when you hit another car at 50 mph. Everyone had their seatbelts on and the truck kept us safe. The mid size sedan that crossed the double yellow line didn’t fare nearly as well.

Whats crazy about this photo is that this looks almost identical to results of the overlap crash testing that IIHS has implemented for newer vehicles.

Here is before and after of the last deer I hit, which is #5 for me. The damage was $5400. I was surprised the truck was not totaled, it had 275xxx on it at the time. Insurance said it was 30% of the trucks value. I’m happy with that.

    Lots, straight from the factory.
Did you even watch the video? He does slow down, quite a bit, enough to say he wanted to not hit the deer. What were you expecting him to do? Swerve and wreck the truck off pa emend to save the animal? Stop and give the deer it’s Last Rights, say a Rosary and build a shrine? It was a deer. He said “Got ‘em” which seems to offend so many people. Who cares? It was a deer.

The issue is we don’t kill enough of them. Deer are everywhere since they have very few natural predators.
