Didn’t cost much to buy all the oem non chrome trim sold on the other trims..

Yup, I hate chrome so much I replaced the taillights too. I got rid of every single piece of chrome. Sold some as some may despise it, others desire it.

I also did the door handles to body colored, that wasn’t cheap as all the parts came out to around $460 (would’ve been $360 but I added two driver smart touch entry to my cart for the passenger front smart touch mod).

Why did you decide to go for the limited if you don't like the chrome? It seems like that trim in the most chromed out. Were there other things on the limited that aren't on the other trims?

Cheapest by far is plasti-dip. If you’re interested in a longer term fix, I suggest
switching to a SR black grille surround for about $80-90 and BumperShellz rear bumper caps for about $100-150.

Yeah that’s good advice, after reading through this thread I’m thinking of swapping out the grille bezel for the SR black one and plasti dipping the bumper because the bumpershellz look kind of bulky to me. Should be easier to peel the plastidip off the bumper than the skinny little bezel if it starts to look like sh*t

Here’s a close up view of the TPO BumperShellz I installed on my previous Quicksand Tacoma. I highly recommend them. They aren’t bulky at all in my opinion. It’s a thin layer. The TPO color matches the rear bumper almost perfectly. Either way, I’m glad you figured out something. This forum is the most helpful I’ve been involved with.

That’s exactly what I did. SR grille, color matched BumperShellz from @eCOOL1. The TPO look great too and are easier to get your hands on.

Nice! Makes me want to consider the same mods to my current truck. It can take longer to get color matched BumperShellz, but it’s worth it. @eCOOL1 offers great customer service!

Great question I get a lot. There was no Cement TRD SPORT with TECH and PREMIUM 2x4 (Fully Loaded) in January 2018. So the easiest thing to do was go for a Limited, then all I would need to hunt down was Cement and 2x4 which made it easier. Any Fully Loaded TRD Sport had like $5K extra crap that I didn't want..so negotiating it back down to MSRP wasn't enticing to me. A base Limited is fully loaded limited, there is only one way to get it. Then you ca. As long as it didn't have extra uselss $$$ add on options, it was easier to negotiate and even then there where only 3 in the whole USA at the time. One couldn't be found, the other the salesman wasn't responsive, and the third I bought from Oklahoma, and had it carrier transported to California. I got everything I wanted except the hood scoop, and well the chrome, that was a minor detail I quickly addressed for not much $$$. Worked out for me.

The color Bumpershellz I want are out of stock. Anybody know how long it takes them to restock?
