nice! was just thinking how I could do this on a second gen. Nice add to the 3rd gen. Surprised with all the new tech options it was not part of it. Keep up the work.

I cut the red fused wire from the PNP harness, that lead to window motor. Connected red wire to a wire that I ran separately as a constant 12V, from door to dash fuse box.

Can you give me an idea how you tapped into the dash fuse box ? I also ran a red wire from the door and looking for a good place to tap for 12volt. Is there more than one fuse box in the cab ?

I’m asking because I no longer have power for the F/L and R/R. Windows.

Checked all the fuses under the Dashboard/steering wheel all good.

3rd Gen Tacomas have a fuse box under the dashboard, near the OBD II. You will also find a larger fuse box next to the battery in the engine compartment.

I ran my own wire from the red wire of PNP harness, after cutting the fuse side, by the window motor. I connected to fuse side of red wire to connect under the dashboard's fuse box. I found a constant useing an electrical probe and used an add a circuit (piggy back) fuse.

My window switches also lost power. I have not reinstalled the window switches on the driver's door. If I move the wires it will work. I feel as if something came loose. I am still researching this issue.

Thanks for your quick response, I’ll check again around the fuse box this time with the key off, and look for constant 12volt. I did unplug the large connector from door at the kick panel, checked no power
Coming in to the door with key on. Like you said more research.

Okay, so.... has anyone done this yet on the new 2020 mirrors with PWM cameras? How can I verify compatibility? This may be my first mod...

Just look at what you've started, @JonathanH?! :p

I have confirmed the following with the SR5s

    62F568EF-1B74-4FE8-9950-25BECAE53D23.jpg

    EB468260-727A-4A52-9CED-7A8EE2E2AE7A.jpg

What does this show....well for starters, the new plug-n-play will definitely not work like the Tacoma’s that have the Power Window Jam Protection for the simple fact that the wires that are in the Power Window Regulator Motor for the Jam Protection Tacoma’s have the 12V and the Ground. The Tacoma’s w/o Jam Protection have the UP and DOWN wires to the Windows and that is it.

These are all the possible Connectors that can be tested for a 12V Wire in the Door: D19 (LOCK & UNLOCK), F40, P18 (ACC & GND), P23, P10, O1 (NEW MIRROR CONTROL, FOLD, UNFOLD), O2.

Yeah. I want these out as bad as you. I’m sure the SR5 people want a fix as well. Once they can locate me a 12V wire then we are good to go. I mean the last resort is going back through into the cab but it’s hard for me to believe that there isn’t one 12V wire in the SR5 door.

So question SR5 people, do you have the open spot in your fuse panel under your dash that is open and is constant? I know I have a open spot that is on the bottom, didn’t come with a fuse in it, and it is constant. If this is the case, I may look into using this spot for your folding mirrors. I have spent the evening searching all of the wire diagrams and still have not located a 12v wire.

Yes, my SR5 has that open fuse slot under the dashboard fuse box. Originally it did not have a fuse. I forgot the identified name, by the fuse cover. It is constant 12V and I am using it for the folding mirrors.

Soon, I will go back into the driver's door, one more time, to quadruple check for a constant 12V. Thank you.

Yeah but I’ve also mentioned that I would like to get the SR5 figured out so they can be apart of the release too. You will each know when they ship out because just like all of my shipments, you will each receive your own tracking number. I’m thinking that unless a SR5 owner can tell me any different this weekend, what I am going to do with the SR5 Kits is take the Ground Wire that was in the Power Window Regulator Motor PNP Harness and add it to the Power Window Master SW PNP Harness. That Harness will then have the ACC and the GND that both go to the O1. I may make this change regardless later on since now I have discovered this Harness. Just makes more sense. Then I would run the Red Wire (12V) directly from the Control Module to the Fuse Box where that Constant Open 12V Slot is located. My vendor has already mentioned he would make it so the fuse was already on the end of the wire for you so that all you have to do is Plug it in to the Fuse Box.

    2A7D90EB-E5AA-48EE-AAE9-4475F60EFCB7.jpg

Therefore, if Sunday evening comes and I still don’t hear anything, I think I’m just going to have to go this route because I cannot keep waiting on the SR5s. I’m sorry.

Let me know ASAP please so I can finalize this please and release!!!
