Should I lift my Tacoma or leave it stock?

Keep it stock lifts cause too many problems.

Why does your front tire look 6 inches bigger than the rear?

 

The 265/75/16 Duratracs are soooooooo much better than the Kevlar "Highway tires". No lift!

 

I have icon 2.5" lift with 265/70/17's. Not huge lift but definitly worth it. No problems with needle bearings, CV boot failures, driveline vibrations.

Gives me the extra confidence and peace of mind when wheeling. Would rather be prepared for

 

Damn, I wrote a big reply up yesterday and apparently never sent it, but TL;DR: steronz are a lot more complicated than people realize and anybody who speaks dogmatically about such a large group of pharmaceutical drugs, both legal and illegal, is incredibly naive and the answer is always going to be more than "steroids do X and I know this because I played high school sports".

And IMO there need to be more Mega Tacos with ridiculous 12" lifts, so OP should put his Tacoma on steroids so we can talk about it.

 

My 2016 was stock for four years and I just lifted it two inches with taller tires. It rides sooo much better on and off road. Just do it.

I have Falken Wildpeaks 265/75/16 on my Pro with no lift. Very happy with the ride, MPGs, and performance.

 

As far as the opening poster's "lift" question, I'm interested as I'm also considering whether to slightly lift my '18 TRD Sport as well.

As far as Steroids go, they are for losers, and lazy ones at that.

As far as body building being 50% diet and 50% work, I think it varies between individuals. Personally, I eat whatever I want, but only average missing about 10 days per year working out (lifting and/or cardio) over the last 30 years which has allowed me to stay in pretty good shape for 63 years old.

I went up to 285/70/17 since my last post. Huge drop in MPGs. I dint experience a big drop in MPGs with just my lift, but after the tires, that's when the most notable change happened.

 

Leave it stock.

 

Leave it stock. Lifting a truck just puts extra stress on a structure that is not up to code to begin with.

 

You could add some weight to the bed to level it out.
