New amp stock wires

Hey guys - I am upgrading my Kicker speaker/key amp setup with an Alpine PDX-V9 5 channel amp, AudioControl LC7i and JL sub.

The amp is 5 channel - 4x100 and 1x500. Question is will the stock speaker wiring handle the increased power being pushed out the amp? If it can handle the power would there be a noticable degragation in sound quality versus running new better wiring?

Run dedicated premium wiring, Why cheap out at this point.

I hear ya. I'm already investing a bit of cash what's a bit more and some time.

Where did you mount your amp?

 

larger/better wire will simply help your amplifier run cooler and closer to rated power because you're not adding on the resistance of the smaller wire. It's worth doing every time IMO.

 

My amp is under my front seat. I know it’s not considered the best but my truck is my daily driver...I’m not really taking it through deep rivers or mud

 

That is the location I am thinking I will place mine. Did you mount directly to the floor? If so how much space do you have between the amp and seat? I may get the amp rack that Taco Tunes sells if the amp will fit under the seat with it.

 

It is mounted on a rack under the seat. I actually paid to have the whole system installed so am not sure what rack it is. Taco tuned has a notorious reputation on here for bad customer service but once people get the parts they ordered seem to be generally happy with the quality of the parts.

 

Yes I've seen a few posts about that as well. I've ordered a few things from them and so far so good. How do you like the amp?

 

love it - no complaints. I did a 14 hour trip in one day this summer with the music about 2/3 of the way to max with no overheating issues. Really quality amp in my opinion.

Do you happen to have pics of the amp install under the seat? Which line out converter did they install? Are they both under the seat?

 

Agree with this. Pull bigger wire to feed the speakers in addition to the amp. Not sure about sound degradation but it made me feel better knowing i have the proper wire size to feed my system.
