I use the Bridgestone DMV2 on my stock wheels, if you have months of snow and ice having winter tires makes a big difference.

I usually do November to April unless I plan a trip up north. Snow tire required from October to April on highways north of me.

The definition of snow tire in BC simply means it must display the M+S symbol, so basically all tires qualify other that sports car slicks.

Not saying I don’t recommend true snow tires, but there’s a lot of confusion about what is required.

Anyone have any insight as to how the blizzaks preform in rain too? We get some rain during the winter as well.

Get some Nokian winter tires and be done with it. The Finns know a couple things about 1) the winter, and 2) design and engineering.

I work at the plant, if someone’s got cash I think I still have one more set I can get before the end of the year.

Looks like they have them in C load. I’ll have to check our kiosk to make sure they are available, but I’m sure they are.

A lot depends on if you are a diehard skier/boarder and wanna be first and last chair, and weather patterns for the area. In parts of CO, snowfall can be very different, 2 hours one way dry and sunny, 1 hour the other way feet of snow.
Where I live, there can be a blizzard 25 minutes to the west, and in town is bluebird skies at 40*..

That pretty much all of Colorado. I’m in the springs and weather varies as little as 3-5 miles.

I never understood why Coloradans try to tell Coloradans how weather is in Colorado.

Wait 30 minutes then go back outside, the weather will be different.

Must have at least 3.5 mm of tread, that's funny, not even a 1/4 inch of tread.

LOL. I never understood why Coloradans always expect to have a bad winter. I'm in Cali and really wouldn't mind seeing the drought return. Last February in Mammoth was rough. 24 feet of snow fell in that month alone. Great for weekend warriors that want to get some turns in but really shitty for a carpenter trying to work. lol

I’m not saying I agree, but technically a set of worn-out Motomasters from Cambodian Tire is acceptable, as long as they say M+S and have 3.5 millimeters of tread left.

I think you’d have to try pretty hard to find a tire that fits a Tacoma that is not M+S, so the whole law is just flabby bullshit that is meaningless, but that is normal for B.C. politics.

We don’t. We have predictable mild winters and the farmers almanac indicates a bad one this year and their pretty much always right.

The good old Almanac is saying Cali will have a less then average/average snow year. I can live with that.

Funny story about the Almanac. I fish a lot. About 8 years ago I decided to track the accuracy of Farmers Almanac Fishing Calendar. They break it down from poor, fair, good, and best. Out of 78 days on the water that calendar was accurate about 92% of the time. I'm a skeptic at heart and would have called bullshit on those findings if I wasn't the one doing the analytics. Now, I use it to plan trips. I only plan them when it says good or best. lol
