The black chrome exhaust tip would look really good on the OP's black truck.

Because when you Take your truck to other places then just the mall, and you drop off a rock, river bank, ETc this does not happen Because the tip bends the side of your truckedit.jpg

incorrect. It does happen because of the tip. It adds more mass underneath the truck, which creates less clearance and makes it more likely to damage.

When I dropped off of this rock the tip got pushed up and stuck behind the body panel. Yes it's a heavy tip but it sits TOO low, It's lower then my sliders. The slider did not hit rock.jpg

    that’s a nice truck, sir!

depending on the terrain and “hit” the tip can add to the damage. It is wise to remove if you like to crawl it... not to mention it looks better and more symmetrical (to me).

Not really mad because I had already ordered the high clearance Mobtown rear bumper.

I chopped mine too. No issues.
I wish I had cut it at angle though because you can really hear is under the bed.

This is actually on my agenda for today. I'm installing BAMF shackle hangers and the exhaust in it's current state is in the way. Buhbye TRD Pro tip. :sawzall:

    Awesome.

I've been thinking about the hangers to get rid of the shimmy.

That issue might have been prevented if you stopped, got out and placed a smaller rock as a step in front of the big rock to lessen the drop.

But I was not there so this is just my 2 cents worth.

Yep, if not in a hurry get out and use rocks, logs etc to make the journey easier. I've done it many times especially for deep ruts.

But then that's not cool for the Instagram crowd or shots.

There is an old 4x4er's rule if you move rocks so you can make it thru a hard spot then you're supposed to stop and put them back where they where before you moved them. Also if I had to move a rock every time I was going down a ledge or a big rock I'd still be stuck moving them In Moab LOL

You are dumping your exhaust directly under your truck. That exhaust has to go somewhere that somewhere could be back in to your cab. Your cab is not sealed and CO can easily find it's way in. It is by no means worth the risk. If you are going to run something like that, you should do yourself a favor and add a little protection. CO is no joke and you probably won't get a second chance.
