I am really enjoying your diagrams lately.

Big issue with a design like that is finding somewhere to store it.

Harbor freight sells a unit already prebuilt with the legs and lift and everything. It’s just too tall and $1,000.

@Sperrunner has a lift at his grandma’s house or something, I think it’s mounted to a steel I-beam or something.

 

That looks like the old super shops or speed shops I would go into back in western Washington growing up. Weird. I wonder if it was a speed shop and then merged with an ace or vice versa? Or speed shop rents some store and shelf space from the Ace? Freaking sweet though, I like Ace. Even moreso with go fast stuff

Also the hanging design allows me to open and close the garage door. Maybe if the joists are not sufficient enough I can put two I-Beams on either side and make an arch.

If I had access to the joists, I could just hang it from there. Plenty of people do it this way and I know it can handle the weight. My issue is I have a finished ceiling with no attic above it. It’s lag screws or nothing.

Fair enough. The biggest reason I want it is so I can take the damn RTT off. Looked into those fancy cabover legs, but they’re like $400 for a set.

He's a ways from there if he's in Vernal. It's like 30 minutes north of Salt Lake City, I think. So like an hour and 15 minutes north of me.

 

I keep forgetting you live there too. I have a friend out there right now.

I dont think much beats Middlesex NC as far as names go. Gotta wonder why it was named that.
