Not a fan of diesel. I don't like the sound or the smell or the soot.

And Bill Maher is an ass hole. :D

I'm really interested to see what they do with the new tacoma. Part of me hopes for a whole new engine. Even with the new 4runner 4.0, its still behind what ford's 3.7 v6 mustang offers. Toyota can do better

Diesel would be amazing. Honda and Toyota need to stop dragging their feet on this. It's not like Toyota hasn't made perfect diesel engines in the past!

Manufacturers are in no way dragging their feet on diesel engines. Toyota has plenty of good diesels already. American laws regarding emissions and such make diesels highly impractical to sell outside of the "super duty" demographic.

Yesss, toyota has had problems with passing emissions requirements. Supposedly about a year or two ago there wasnt a "market" for a Heavy Duty Tundra with a Diesel

I still don't think there is. People who actually use HD trucks (i.e. not Bros or rednecks with dick-size security issues) are probably the most fiercely loyal of all truck buyers. And a lot of them still think Jap nameplates are poorly made.
