You have to pull the whole bed off in order to get to it. Its a PITA.

 

Huh? Dealership swapped mine out in 15 minutes.

 

Interesting. My trucks bolts to get it off are covered by the bed of my truck.

 

Maybe some guys at the factory went from the bottom while some went from the top?

 

Ratcheting wrench maybe? I know they didnt take my bed off for that or for when they did the evap canister, the bed bolts are linexed over. Would be a pita if you had to take em loose, and Im certain it would leave marks on the bolts if they did.

 

You don't take of the bed from the top, unless you paid to have the underside of your truck linexd

Then what are those bigass torx bolts that go through the floor of my bed for?

 

I have no idea, I've never removed mine, maybe a stiffening piece for the opening of the bed or something. I've removed my bed 10 or so times and never touched them

 

Amp mounted outta the way until I decide I want to mount it on a board with my breakouts for power for the back.

 

Huh. Guess I just assumed wrong then. I know on the 2nd gens those torx bolts are how you remove it, I thought it was the same on our trucks.

 

Yeah second gen beds come off from the top, they don't have any welded nuts for obvious reasons

Not yet; Wednesday would be the best day for me to get something like this knocked out though since I have Wed/Thur off every week.

 

This will be perfect for when I mall crawl too people can't door ding me as easily, and they'll fuck their own car up trying.

That was the only thing I enjoyed about the sliders I built for my truck. So much protection, and would add a ton of bracing in the event of someone T boning my truck.

 

I dream of this out here... but the last of our speed shops ceased to exist 2016
