Not with truck now but when I flip the switch in the ‘always on’ position the trans indicator shows R when I am in Drive.

If Im not mistaken the red wire you cut the wire coming out of connector to mirror , goes to com terminal of switch . Other wire going to EDIT ( harness going back to truck harness under headliner ) goes to one of other outside terminal. Looks like you got it reversed . If I got time I can double check mine but been under the weather the last few days .

EDITED about wire going back to headliner side

That would make sense why it wouldn't work. Let me know what you find. Thanks!!!

Edit: Noticed this in the first post: "the lead that goes to the clip is soldered to post 2 (because that goes directly to the mirror)"

    THANK YOU!

I did this mod the other day and it works perfect . If you choose the middle position ,the mirror view will stay off . I also tapped the 3 wires in the kick panel to tie to my aftermarket HU video input . Its a lil grainy at times ,will try a few chokes on it to see if they help at all. great mod !

I have a 2013 that displays the rear camera in the rear view mirror, I want it to display on the lcd screen head unit when I put the truck in reverse, all I will need is this wiring harness? Or a switch to press to activate camera when I want to reverse?

You'll need to do more than just get this part. I used this in conjunction with a switch to display the backup camera anytime to the LCD, but my camera was already routed to the screen.

If you have a newer model rear view mirror, with the temperature and compass display, will it still cut off after 5 minutes and enter screen saver mode when the switch is engaged?

I'd like to do this mod but have an aftermarket camera I installed in the bumper since I removed the tailgate (with camera) to carry a camper shell. I now have two sets of guidelines superimposed on the image. The new camera instructions tell you to cut a wire to eliminate the lines for their camera, but I want to eliminate the ones from the OEM camera since they're now in the wrong place as the new camera is mounted at a different location and angle. Is there a way to get rid of the guidelines while doing this mod as well?

Can anyone tell me which wires are the power and ground. I have a 2011 with the JBL system and the backup camera in the mirror...

It looks like the lime green is power but then on the backside facing the windshield there is three black wires.. are those ground?

I'm thinking the white and black wire next to the green is ground

That is awesome. Not sure I'm smart enough to do this. I'll have to watch the video about 15 more times

I followed your directions on my 2009 Tacoma and it worked great. I can monitor my trailer occasionally during towing with a full bed of stuff. Thanks for the post.

I had a new windshield put in, and my mod got messed up. I got it working again, but where does that red wire go to? Oddly enough the Mod is working fine without it.
