Lower shock mounts need just a bit more space at full droop to avoid contact on the shaft right above the eye.

If there the upgrades trusses as pictured, they will only be 2" deep, plywood material I believe is inset in that 2" also.
If you hit center, anything longer has the possibility to start cracking it, if you angle/offset the plywood section, anything over that 2" is holding on to air.

3/8"= leaving more meat on the truss runner. You could probably get away with using 1/4" the metal/thickness will still have enough tensile strength. Just use washers. Pre drilling keeps it from cracking.

Just for a strength principle purpose. Have a 2x4 header lagged to the house, my 2x8x16' header for the patio awning is lagged to it. Lags are 1/4" spaced 16-24"

I own American Auto Horns. I buy, restore, and sell GM horns of the 1960’s through 1990’s. I have a group buy thread on here.

Surprised you guys are still burning fossil fuels.

I’d show my current ride but the federal government doesn’t want you to know.

    So.. our secret.

Sure about 1400 round trip but not right now. Bit more like 2200. My oldest daughter is getting ready to go. And holy crap it's pricey. He is in Ireland silly.

Couldn't flush mount the 2x8 to the house due to a surface protrusion where the inner studs are, why the 2x4 headder then a 2x8 attached to it for accommodating the the awnings framework.

Was just showing the strength of a 1/4" lag can handle.

    I worked construction for 20yrs.
