That sounds logical but no first hand experience with it. The last 4runner didn’t have all that stuff on it.

I was a bit skeptical, because dealer, but when I saw the battery juice like an inch lower than lower level I started to believe

I really wouldn’t mind having one of the All-Pro racks like Mike has. I don’t believe they sell the DIY kits anymore though.

might be just a simple put a new battery in it and done. If it happens after that I’d be leery of an electrical issue.

Alright, I’m going back to sleep. Wind was blowing the awning on the camper and squeaking the hell out of the gas struts on it. Moving the camper back and forth and irritating the shit out of me. Had to pull that shit in. Lol

That sounded like a lot of work for pushing a button didn’t it? Lol

They have really been an easy dealer to work with. This is my 3rd vehicle from the same guy in 12 years. That’s a long salesman life.

I would have walked away! Electrical problems (many) and that line of BS the dealer gave you was the red flag that says RUN AWAY! Sorry that is as much sugar I can put on it.

I know but the only thing I can really say is I trust this dealer. If a battery doesn’t fix it then we will probably go another direction.

I really like the RCI one. I want a cab height so I can still put a matching Martin rack on :D
I just strolled through TX last week.

It was an over 3 year old battery, not really that old but the acid level was pretty low. Saw it with my own eyes. Maybe I’m just being hard headed and really want this 4Runner to go my way but we will find out Monday

Nothing much waiting for 7:00am. Dont get much down time at work, enjoying it while I can.

Battery starts the motor. That's it, job over. Alternator takes over. If it has a tow package the alternator is probably a 130 amp unit. Way more than what is needed to run everything. If the battery is that bad it won't even turn over. I will give you 3-4 years sounds about right for battery life in TX.

Not necessarily, old school yes not the same with new. I’ve dealt with it, new vehicles will go into a low voltage mode. I don’t honestly know it all that’s why I came to ask if someone else might have had a similar experience
