    Not much ice cream today. Half gallon vanilla and Heath Klondike, that's it. Slow and boring, glad I brought my charger.

    @Tractorman
    Lots of burning cornfields this morning. The smell gives me a headache. If you burn your fields

    Nope ain’t nobody around here does. I usually lightly till the field after it’s picked and let Mother Nature take care of the rest.

    Thank you for that.
    A few years ago they were burning fields next to a hiway. Some people slowed down/stopped because of all the smoke, a girl was killed in a wreck because of it.

    In 2011-2012 I had to burn off everything because of the flood. We had fields of cat tails. They put off a lot of smoke, but I’m not near any major highways. I might have to burn those off again if it freezes and things ever dry out.

    How long can corn sit before you have to get it out? Does it mold?

    Yes it molds. Most ears have already dropped (when the ear is pointing to the ground) which is good the water can’t get in. But I’ve picked corn in February before, don’t like to though. One year the water came up in the late fall, we waited for the weather to freeze it to ice then picked it while running on the ice. But I wouldn’t do that anymore these combines weigh too much. Back then we were running two row pickers on a tractor.
