Ah I see. So if we’re talking sheer weight (I mean the weight before the lag screw strips from the wood) approx. how much weight can it handle with a load from the ceiling?

My headder lags position would be under sheer weight principle. Not sure what the strength principle/name would be for gravity/pull would be. Getting into heavy stuff, bolt n nut is always prefered, but in your situation, I usually go with what I feel/ comfortable that it can handle it.
I prefer to use 2x studs in this instance, but with the possibility of them Simpson runners in your place, how long is your track, how many studs your going to attach to and how many anchors are you using per stud( lags, screws)
I see what your weight your trying to support,

With them answers, I can tell you if I feel safe with it.

I dont think you find answer to that. Why I gave my answer like I did.

I went back to your original post on length, stud, weight. With the electric hoist at 400lbs and if its position between 2 studs with that weight, I wouldn't do it. But 400 lbs spread out the 12' I would posably attempt it.
Keeping an eye on it though.

I would not do it with only two studs. There are six total studs within about a 12’ distance from center. I planned on using four, but can use up to six on Unistrut hangers. The Unistrut comes in 12’ pieces.
