Well after being rear ended 3 times(the last one "wrote off"my car, the car in front of me and the asshole in the mustang behind me), I am a bit paranoid about it happening to my Taco which does not really have a bumper like previous gens.
    To each his own.

Had to admit the camping season is over for us and needed an easy way to get the tent off and stored.

Thanks Cap that's very nice of you. I'll be fine, I've tap danced a time or two in my life. When you're a direct
descendant of Murphy you learn to "adapt and overcome." Never served but that's a philosophy that I've always tried to adhere to. To put it another way Mom and Dad didn't raise a quitter! Wife comes first, everything else will get done in due time. A good word with the man upstairs wouldn't hurt if you were inclined to do so, can't get enough of those.

I smile at all of the LED replacements going on by Taco owners. Not a problem. Not critisizing. Just amusing to me only because I disable my interior lights straight away upon truck purchase. Nobody knows when I open the door (coming or going), no worries about "did I leave the inside light on?!", no night vision washout, etc., etc., etc.
Instead mounted a map light to the ceiling that is removable to hand-held, has red & white lenses, is spot or flood, and is 12v powered. I just never need the dome light. Don't have the bed light. Don't have any vanity mirrors.

But... I did replace my reverse lights to LED. That improvement I like quite well. Thus I can understand changing any light you use to the improved LEDs. It just makes me smile to see so very many on here that do it and post photos of the results. And yep, bed mat was mod #2 for me too!

As far as back-up camera washout - I've said it many times: simply turn off your headlights and those bright license plate lights will extinguish and there won't be any wash-out.

Does that cover the brown on tires ? I have 2 that seem to brown worse than the other 2.

Edit // I see in the reviews it covers white so brown should not be a problem. I'll add this to the wish list.

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
I have to ask 'cause I really don't know... Why not just scuff off the white paint with some coarse sandpaper?

I would think so. It is used by people with classic autos to make their tires look new again. It covers very well and dries within 3 minutes. They recommend 3 light coats .

It is my understanding that the white goes all the way through the tire. Just like if you rub tires on a curb some white starts showing.
Plus it took less than 30 minutes to paint all 4 tires.

Traditionally, raised white letter tires are made by placing a layer of white rubber underneath the tire's black outer layer. The black rubber is then precisely removed to reveal the white rubber underneath. The lower the profile, the less space you have for extra layers.

I didn't know that till the Goodyear tires on my '03 Dakota started cracking real bad and you could see white in the cracks. Buddy that owns a tire shop showed me on a old tire how tire company's put white lettering under the black sidewalls. I never knew it either.

I just weren't smart enough to bomb can the letters on inside before mounting mine. Good news is you really can't see them unless underneath.
