I believe the box says 1-2 years IIRC.

I wouldn’t use the Meguiars stuff. Application is finicky and there’s a learning curve. You could end up extremely disappointed with no option other than sanding it off. It’s ok for restored lenses but for new lenses there are much better options. Don’t risk it on new lenses.

look on auto geek and get a headlight coating like opti-lens or the McKees 37 version. There are several others, too.

or you could just use whatever wax or sealant your use on your truck. Won’t last like a dedicated coating but it’ll do the trick.

The box does say a year. Even on the “restored” headlights it seemed to last right around 12 months or so.
Perhaps you are thinking of another product. This stuff is about like a clear coat. If you sprayed too often I would be afraid of build-up.

I bought the meguiars stuff and started reading reviews made me a little paranoid about putting this on brand new lenses, and I can’t really afford a learning curve.
Which one would you recommend for new lenses?
    The McKee’s or opti-lens?

I haven’t used either one. Both get good reviews. I’ve been More than impressed with all the mckees products I’ve tried. And they’re usually cheaper than the rest of the pack.

I’d get the McKees. There’s enough in a bottle to coat multiple sets of lenses, though it might soilidify/gel before you use it all up. All the more reason to go for the cheaper McKees, IMO. It’s a toss up. If you want to dive deep, check out reviews on the autogeek forum.

My guess is you’d be content with either one. The McKees crew is a good bunch of folks and they wouldn’t put out a product they don’t stand behind. Actually, same goes for the Opti folks.

    Thanks
I did go ahead and read the reviews, for both opti and McKees. I actually have 2 sets of headlights 1 are the pros I just bought, the other are a set of fairly new ones (9/10) I was going to do a BHLM on, but I’m going to probably sell them.
I’ll use those as a tester.
    Thanks again
    I appreciate you

Is there any use/value in a set of stock 2nd gen headlights? I replaced them with some aftermarket headlights as the lenses were yellowed and scratched. They were 14 years old and had been buffed multiple times. Wondering if the headlight units have any value for someone?

I put ClearBra/Xpel on my headlights. Was $70 installed and comes with a lifetime warranty. I spent the $ to get new housings and wanted to protect them. The Xpel film protects from hazing and rock chips (self healing).

So I did the headlight upgrade using OEM Pro Headlights, Osram superbrights, and the Hella HL 28200 wiring harness.

I mounted the relays on an existing bracket with a heat sink looking thing in front of battery. I had to expand the slots on the relay holder slightly but then it matched up with the existing screws.

I mounted the fuse holder to an existing bolt near radiator close to battery

I connected the negative lead to the chassis ground.

Ran wire over to passenger side under radiator shroud, and put loom on all exposed wires.

Routed excess passenger side wire under power steering fluid reservoir and zip tied to existing wire.

Satisfied with the overall installation. Looking forward to checking out the increased visibility when it gets dark tonight.

I looked at the film. It may be the best option, but when I researched what it takes to get the film back off I got cold feet. The chemicals needed to remove the adhesive would no doubt remove the UV protection. However, if you never need to remove the film I would say you are golden.

Just over 2 years. No issues.

I am not sure why you would want to remove it. It fits perfectly and is only noticeable if you know and look for it.
