    Hi All,
I have a nice golf umbrella I keep on the floor in the back of my truck. It constantly rolls and bangs around. I thought of a nice solution to remedy this. Maybe it can help people with the same issue?

    IMG_0933.jpg

    - I went to a local Michaels (had a coupon) and picked up the One Wrap Velcro. It was about $7 for the roll. This had a tarp wrapped up so I thought it would be a bit more “heavy duty”. This product had a soft side and the plastic side.

    - I first started by pulling forward the bottom rear seats, opened the top for the storage area and removed the Push Fastener. I cut a 14” piece of the Velcro. I folded it (soft side out) with about 1 ½”- 1 ¾” overhang. I drilled a hole using a 3/16 drill bit.

    IMG_0934.jpg

    IMG_0938.jpg

    - I installed the folded part of the Velcro between the body of the truck and the plastic rear storage. Longer part on top and again soft side out. I Reinstalled the Push Fastener through the hole of the Velcro. I repeated the steps on the passenger side. I close the storage and put the seats back down to its normal state.

    - Now all you need to do is strap up your umbrella using the Velcro straps. Sits in there nicely. Make it as tight as you want or leave it a bit loose so you can slide it in and out without any problem. Please note, it may be in the way when you try and pushing the bottom of the seats forward. So, adjust accordingly.

I have a crew cab but sure it can work for the access cab as well. If you have a smaller umbrella I’m sure you can just use the other holes to fit your umbrella. Let me know how you like this. Thanks for viewing.

    Hmmmmm....

I usually just wear a rain jacket. But this might work well for a shotgun if I used some heavier duty straps.

    Good thinking @OffroadJet

Just curious, does it impede accessing the under seat storage if the umbrella is in place; can you flip the seats with umbrella in place?

seats still open fine but if you really tightened it down it would prob be in the way. Loosen the velcro and it should work fine with a simple adjustment. I dont haul too much stuff so its fine for me. Also depends on the size of the umbrella

I just put mine between the seat and the area that’s always pain to vacuum. Never moves but the Velcro is a good idea

Nice solution but who uses an umbrella? :notsure:
I don't think I ever have used an umbrella.

When I lived in Seattle, you could always recognize tourists because they rocked the umbrella. My mentor told me on the first week of work to go buy the nicest rain jacket I wanted, easily over $200. Was great advice, got a ton of use out of it.

See if i wore a rain coat in 80-90 degree weather id sweat my ass off and be wet anyway. lol no one wears coats here unless its 60-70 degrees. thats perfect weather for me so shorts and shirts pretty much all year round. I use the umbrella if there is crazy rain but if it drizzles ill just walk. its usually not far anyway. when i worked downtown Fort Lauderdale i had my umbrella due to the random storms, especially during the summer. I walked a mile to work and it saved me a bunch of times.

Also sometimes where I put my shotgun. I didn’t realize shotguns and umbrellas had so much in common.

Our rainy days were definitely cold, so that makes more sense.

I did exactly the same thing when I went to work for a company headquartered there. Bought a nice REI raincoat for traveling.

I’m a gentleman, I keep one in my truck and my wife’s car, so that if it’s pouring I can hold an umbrella over her.

But I also still open her door every time we get in to a vehicle and before entering and exiting a building.
