For backpacking it could make sense; the worst predators you'll run into are those on 2 legs.

    Have read some horror stories.

    BADASS!

I have that manual/booklet on the top row, second one with the yellow cover.

    Old PEQ infrared laser.

Bet your uncle was stationed out in Fort Ord back in the day.

Yeah most this is older the when you probably were in. My uncle was in for 20 years and was there for the first gulf war. Dude had some crazy stories, was in armord and then went to recon and became a ranger. Then was a drill sargent. Retired then is now teaching EOD at Fort irwin

Do you need a CCW to carry your gun on BLM land? I didn't think you did...I've been out camping with many others on BLM land that had firearms on them without CCWs (no one in LA county can get one even if they wanted to)

Genuinely curious, I don't own a firearm but would be good to know for the future.

Especially if you are camping (in camp) no you do not need a CCW on BLM.

Your camp is your domicile... your home... same rules apply as if you're in your living room.

Hiking etc... you can carry on BLM land. But I would not conceal unless you have a CCW.

Interesting that he went into EOD; you learn some cool shit at their schools. Had a buddy do a lat move when I got out and I had visited him several times to see their cool "demos" etc.

    No CCW needed for BLM.

State parks should be treated the same as if you were out in public at a store; prohibited to carry unless you have a valid CCW.
