    Still stock completely capable!
Totally agree! I take mine into the bush constantly. If it was just for driving around town and the odd dump run I would of considered a Ridgeline. I respect and like Honda. Just like Toyota more.

I’d take a Tacoma over a ridge line any day... looks like something a 64 year old lesbian would drive. I’ll pass. I’m sure it really handles that weight well too.... she’s a queefin’ all the way... bless it!

Seems far more like a modern Dodge Rampage than a El Camino.

I think you have hit the nail on the head. To me it's really a SUT not a truck. Most people think a Honda is not manly enough. My wife has had 6 Honda's in the last 30 years. The last 3 have been Honda Pilots. She only wants Honda's now. Gave her the option to get the 2019 4Runner Pro, BMW X5, or the Baby Benz SUV and she said nope, another Honda Pilot please. I tried to see if she would try the Ridgeline since we really don't need an SUV any more & she said if you like it...wait for it... you get it. I said no thanks. A front wheel drive "truck" doesn't seem right. It would do what most people need except off-road stuff. Bet it's a huge seller in the EU and Japan.

So when the zombies finally do attack what truck are you gonna go with. A fully capable off road truck or a car truck that gets great mileage.:mudding:

It's all about pride... and maniless. These guys get so caught up in image and shit. They buy for dreams instead of reality. They lay on the couch and dream of the Rubicon instead of doing the Rubicon. The Tacoma is just extending their fantasy. My thoughts.

Well, I own a Tacoma so clearly I prefer the looks too. However, apart from 4low and the rear locker, I am not sure I have too many functional reasons to favor the tacoma over the ridgeline. However, it doesn't seem your complaints have to do with its function. People always called subarus lesbian cars and I had 3 of those and loved all of them. I hope you didnt buy your truck just to affirm your masculinity- there is probably someone out there a lot manlier than you doing a lot more in a ridgeline. What if you met him at Home depot one day? What would that do to your psyche? Its a good thing you dont live near my dad...:militarypress::rofl:

I’m willing to bet that an AWD Ridgeline could hang with your taco if you were off-roading anywhere near La Crosse, WI. Those corn fields are treacherous!

Clearly have never been to WI, brother. You Don't need fake off-road trails to say you are offroading

Lived in Winona and La Crescent for for nearly 15 years. Plenty of time spent in that region. There’s relatively little off-roading to be had. And surely nothing that even slightly tests a Tacoma’s capabilities.

If it was available with a low range gear and manual transmission I'd be interested.

As is it's not much more capable than my Impreza wagon which averages 30mpg.

    Is that a donut spare?

I get the appeal, but it does not appeal to me.

For that matter, a Honda Pilot fits the bill for what most Ridgeline owners actually do with their trucks.
Beyond significant functionality differences, aesthetics also matter. Ridgeline just does not appeal to most prospective truck buyers.

Ridgeline is one hell of a ride. Comfortable city driver, even better on the highway. Tons of space. The hinged tailgate is very useful to reach for something on the bed and even better climbing onto it, stepping on the bumper and then the bed. It towed my jet skis or boat flawlessly.

having said that, I just sold my 2013 ridge last week and take delivery of my first Taco this week. As soon as I started going off road and camping with my kid, I realized I had outgrown the ridge. It can handle dirt roads just fine, but anything more and you think you’re driving minivan.

That Broverlanding thing seem kind of cool. I just wonder if I can fit 285s with a 2” lift.

One day when it gets older and turns into an adult truck we might be proved wrong. Oh wait it's a honda... nevermind.

There are a lot of issues with the Ridgeline from my perspective: no Sport mode transmission lockout (towing); laggy infotainment system; minivan-like captains chair armrests; shallow truck bed w/o damper; a center "purse cache" instead of an armrest; rear doors with limited sweep; limited potential for mods; and finally, fit-and-finish problems that have become an issue for Honda over the past 10 years.

Yes, it does handle well for a truck but that's not the sole or major consideration for most truck buyers. Tacoma ticks many more boxes for me than the Ridgeline.
