Didn't really do anything with the ceiling. It's the same layout as our living room (peaked ceiling in knotty pine). While I painted the living room ceiling white - not a fan of knotty pine - we decided to leave the bedroom ceiling natural for now as it looks decent with our mid century furniture.

I did put in a ceiling fan and caulked the gaps in the T&G grooves. There is also loft like spaces above the closets and bathroom that get very dusty and are hard to clean. My other half has dust allergies so we decided to frame the spaces in, put doors on and use it for storage. I beefed up the joists for the bathroom ceiling and laid down plywood for the floor. Just ran out of time so for now I just covered the openings with the old pine paneling, painted white, that I took off the walls.

Prepped the garage floor for stain/sealer. Cross another job off the list that I don't want to do when I grow up...

You got that right. Fortunately through my extensive Naval training I'm well versed as a Buffer Tech.

Awaiting: Sub-school, A and C school. They must buy tiles that are 3" thick because we stripped and waxed those damn floors every day!

Army was the same, at least when I was a joe. Had a hell of a time teaching my cq how to buff the company floors. Apparently they never had to maintain any standards before? :notsure:

Finished the bathrooms since the last update (except for Towel and TP holders) and started working on the back yard.
8-10 trees were removed, all were along the fence line and were popcorn trees (a PITA) so we cut them and will rot out the stumps.
No pictures from today but we got a landscape rake to clean everything up and it looks much better, we plan on going back with Kentucky Blue Grass in the areas that it’s just dirt.

We also had a small issue of the skid steer running over the saw, dad set it on the track and then promptly got in the machine and ran it over.... he was looking for an excuse to get rid of the MS170 and get an MS261 instead.

How many tries in the Navy did it take you to learn that standing on it, spinning it and STAYING on was an unattainable skill? LOL

2 times and a black eye was how long it took me

My wife has a great story about trying to clear housing when I was deployed in 03’. They told her she needed to strip the tiles on the second floor, this was before privatized housing. She got a buffer from them, got her mom to help her. It was hard to control so they decided it might be easier if her mom sat on it... no idea how they ever got it done without killing themselves or breaking the walls.

There are some crazy videos out there with people getting their asses kicked, it's hysterical. There was one I watched where the poor girl had the handle completely vertical and then had her Dad get his ass kicked and nobody ever thought of lowering the arm....GENIUS!
