I'd personally rather see the first "insert name here" than the 2nd Brady. Nothing against Brady, but I would prefer seeing someone be who they are.

That being said, living in AZ (at least prior to the season start) I heard Murray was going to be the next TB....
I've heard Mahomes
I've heard Garoppolo
I've heard Goff
I've heard Mayfield

So I still stick to, it depends on which team the person you are asking is rooting for

 

It's all about attitude and body of evidence.

Mahomes and Goff have the same hunger to win as Brady... and it shows on the field.

Wentz has the same meticulous presence as Brees has.

Mayfield is just a cocky wannabe that doesn't do anything to back it up on the field.

When its clutch time... who you want driving you down the field?!

True, but personally my opinion is (at this point; if the Chiefs ever get their act together it may change) that Mahomes is going to end up as the next Aaron Rodgers. Amazing QB, especially on the run, but when it's all totted up at the end of his career he'll probably have a fair number of records, a collection of injuries, and 1 ring.

The problem with overly mobile QB's (traditionally) is that eventually the averages catch up with them and they break/tear something important that ends their season.

 

And here I thought that stupid joke was just from Common Man on KFAN in Minnesota. He says this about his Lions team at least once per show if not more. Don't ask me why a Lions fan runs a primetime show on a Minnesota sports talk radio station...

Mayfield is the next Tom Brady

 

Whoever replaces him will be the next TB. I mean he is a system QB that has the Refs in his pocket and a team built around his strengths (throwing the ball 6 yards to wide open receivers). So whoever the Pats put in after him has the best chance.

Hence why the Pat's have no problem winning without him.

 

I think there won’t be ‘another Tom Brady’. A large part of his success (6 SB wins) is Belichek. Those 2 have incredible chemistry which will never again be matched IMO. I think Rogers and Brees are both equal to Brady but don’t have Belichek. They have 9 SB appearances...9!!! That will not be matched, not in my lifetime anyway.
Bradshaw/Noll and Montana/Walsh with 4 SB wins, I think that’s as close to Brady/Belichek it will ever get.

Not at all. I believe they will do well. Just hope it doesn't start tonight.

 

This is why I mentioned Goff as a possibility. Both him and McVay are young and have many years to build their chemistry. They got their trial experience against the GOATs... I think we will see that combo in the postseason for quite a while.

 

Even if he was a 'system QB' then he'd still be one of the best ones to ever play the game. Because the Pats have had a winning record in every kind of offensive 'system' he's played in. Deep threat. Run-dominated. Spread offenses. Twin Tight End. Short passes. Throwing to all-star players, nobodies, & has-beens.

Honestly, it will be a dark day in NE when he does retire, because no matter who they bring in to replace him, the odds are astronomical that they'll still be anywhere near as successful.
It's been really easy to be a Pats fan over the last 20 years, and I don't look forward to watching them return to their 90's form someday

Patchwork O-lines don't win Superbowls. We've got like 20 something million in cap space. Better be working the phones for something.
