I used the cheapest crappiest Amp I could buy on Amazon for $9.98. It works fine. Probably why they sound so bad haha

They aren't breaking from binding during droop/travel. The last one tore just driving on the highway because something knicked it. None of the fins rub at ride height

Whoa, 5.0 like bad to the bone old school 5.0? My uncle's a diehard Ford hillbilly and has a '92 special edition convertible that he had a blower put on and the beefy rear end, I dunno Ford 9" or something. But the car is faaaaaaaaast. He bought it new and it sits in his garage.

Lol those 5.0's were reliable as well, just underpowered until you start swapping out to a better intake manifold, port matched heads, and bored for a 347 stroker.

It's a 2016 and aside from the stereo at one point turning off (factory radio), it's never even had a bug.

Took it to Texas twice already and made several trips to southern CA in it.

Gotcha, yeah the reliability in general of vehicles has improved tons in last couple decades. Any vehicle now a days should hit 200k miles without major component failure(engine, tranny, etc) as long as the maintenance from the manufacturer is followed

Machinist apprentice, Right now I'm doing mostly millwright duties. Looks of machine maintenance and building shop tools. Lots of welding and grinding which is fun, plenty of making fixtures for the machinists too.

Who here was taking a welding class?

If I've got some time later, I'm going to call around and see what's offered around me, and see if they accept the GI bill.

I took a weekend class but it's not an ongoing thing.

I think @CS_AR was saying he's taking a month long course or something like that right now

I'm making it a point to get a garage, and making it another point to get into welding.

Yeah once the dust settles on the holidays and hospital/baby bills early next year I'm going to get a mig welder. Going to have to be something that works with the 120 outlets since we have an old house, no garage, etc. But from what Ive read and after talking to Sergio (also uses a 120 machine) it should be plenty for anything I'd need it for. Truck repairs, welding together my own bumpers, etc.

The class I took only introduced us to stick/SMAW welding, while fun it isn't something I'd want to use on the truck

Yeah, you bet your ass I'm going to pick his brain.

It's one thing to talk about it online, it's another thing to do so in person with tools right there in front of you.

I offered to teach him reloading lol but really, reloading ammo is a whole other hobby by itself.

Found some extra ammo anyway I can hook him up with.

Hows that going? Are they teaching you a specific type (smaw, mig, tig) or introducing you to each?
