Burrow is just playing lights out, and in my honest opinion, the current best pocket passing QB this season. I hope he keeps it up.

This is his first rodeo and he's already played for a national title. UGA is the clear leader of the east and it isnt even close yet. UF could make shit interesting, which UGA needs to stay relevant in the playoff.

Alabama has LSU and Auburn who keep it interesting consistently.

With the implementation of the Transfer Portal, coaches are going to have to be afforded much more time to turn around programs and reach pinnacles of success.


See, before, coaches pretty much had all the say in who was there, who wasnt. Now, players can simply leave, which can throw off your 2-5 year plan for the team.


The only team I can speak to is Alabama for the following.

Saban has been recruiting to change his offense and defense to keep ahead of trends. Now, if he does this and 2 or 3 key players transfer, he's FUCKED. Like, rogered. Jollied.

This is potentially what happened with Kirby and Justin Fields. A QB no less. Kirby was sitting on Fields, allowing him to mature a bit, still running a run heavy offense so Fields left.

If you notice, Gawja doesnt have to monster RB's fighting for the Heisman or ESPN highlights. My guess is he was planning on playing Fields soon, allowing him to be a severe weapon. Now, that is gone. Probably why the run game has struggled because the OL has been recruited differently to fit a different style of QB.

 

Just to muddy the waters...

Athletic departments aren't typically "allowed" to run a deficit, so they hide it.

Difference with me is... I dont get butthurt when my teams flaws are pointed out.

Hell... I'm a UF, PHI, Magic, Ray's, and Predators fan... im used to mediocrity.

I'm just now starting to enjoy some semblance of relavance with my sports teams.

Only 1 title from all my pro teams.

UF gives me my little slice of winning... and that's every so often.
